Is it possible? or is it a hardware thing that only macs can do?

^ i tried it.. it doesnt work.. it says my touchpad doesnt suport multiple fingers.. I have a dell vostro 1500

you have to uninstall the dell touchpad driver and reinstall the latest driver directly from synaptics.i still haven't been able to tweak it to get it to do the 2 finger scroll, but this is the only way it can happen. i'll keep working on it...[Edited on January 2, 2009 at 9:15 AM. Reason : ]
