My girlfriend and I have the same problem with 2 different cars.

when you turn the key in the ignition, the engine starts and then immediately dies, even when pressing the gas ; power steering cuts off and the engine shuts off. after the engine starts it slowly dies and has a slight gurgling sound before it cuts off

she has a 2000 honda accord and i have a 99 pathfinder

it doesnt happen everytime, but randomly .. she took her car into AAA and the honda dealership and they said nothing was wrong with it.. but it continues to do it

any ideas?

actually this pretty much makes the IAC not a likely suspect. you are saying that it does it even if you're holding the gas slightly down, start the car and keep holding the gas down it still cuts off sometimes, correct?

yea, pressing the gas doesnt really solve it .. it just eventually starts, but it struggles

Captain Obvious here.....

You don't have the same problem with both vehicles, now break it down by vehicle/symptom instead of trying to group them together. I can think of at least 37 things that can cause said problem of the top of my head.

well my car has been fine for almost a month now

but her honda accord has done it twice in the past 2 days ... and randomly since may

shes taken it into AAA and the honda dealership and they found nothing wrong ... batterys fine, alternator is fine, apparently they checked the computer.

i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but when she drives, there is a loud humming noise coming from either the tires or under the hood. the tires have been checked. this also started happening right around the same time her car wouldnt start.

but like i said, its completely random. yesterday in a parking lot, we had to sit there for 15 - 20 min trying to start it every other minute. hers and mine would never start when we put it in reverse, thats when it died. but when started and coasted, it would struggle to keep going .. it went for about 50 yards and when turning out of the parking lot, as soon as the breaks were pressed and the gas was let off, it died. so we pulled into another parking lot and waited another 10 minutes, trying every other minute to not flood the engine .. and finally, once again it started as we were coasting to the stop light. luckily it turned green and we kept driving with no problems until today when the same thing happened.

What the fuck are you talking about?

An intermittent connection at one of these points will cause the car to shut off randomly. What don't you understand about that, cocksucker?
