25+ years old.not really a dream build. but something you would want to fix up and have around for a while. something that could be bought here (in US). not rare as hell mine would be:'70's honda civic [Edited on December 16, 2008 at 12:11 AM. Reason : ]

My dad had the same car way back when. Same color also!
12/16/2008 12:47:54 AM

12/16/2008 1:02:27 AM
VW Bus or classic Land Rover
12/16/2008 1:21:38 AM

12/16/2008 8:18:13 AM
yee.ive been looking for the classic S cars. S600,500,800 or what not. not real serious. they're real hard to come by.i like this:a guy in raleigh had an old school civ for like $300.. forgot the year. but he never got back to me. do a crazedlist.org search. my friend said he found a good many on CL.[Edited on December 16, 2008 at 9:01 AM. One of my buddies in high school had a cherry CVCC that he received from one of his grandparents. That thing was as reliable as a new car and very cheap on gas. We made a roof basket out of old shopping carts for it one night (for carrying all the off road gear.)

fordHater had a friend with one... dont remember if there was a swap in it, i dont think there was, but he autoXed it. man that thing was tight. lolmy dad had a '74 civic hatch, orange in color. I saw pics of it. He had it while he was at NCstate. now i see where i get my civic hatchback love from.

12/16/2008 3:46:40 PM
i definitely have a hardon for the ac cobra 427 and i know nothing about cars...which is why i'd probably be okay with a kit

'64 Galaxie, preferably a 500/XL coupe, would be at or near the top of my list.[Edited on December 16, 2008 at 5:21 PM. Reason : better image]

I can't believe you guys are jizzing yourselves over raggedy old hondas, but to each his own, I guess.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oASUBZY-ZGII've done the muscle car thing, the antique thing, the late-model american thing, messed around with VW's, so I guess next is a quick roadster of some sort. The AC bodies look good, but they're too common and scream kit car. Granted, there are a lot of $40,000 kit cars out there.
12/16/2008 6:25:55 PM
Work in progress . . .
12/16/2008 6:39:55 PM
Looks straight enough. But for the love of god please don't paint it orange.

I'd like to have a Triumph TR5 or something similar. I've always liked the look of those small British roadsters.

Are you serious about the 70's civic? I'm half ass interested
12/16/2008 9:37:16 PM
several years ago I had almost 10 willys wagons and pickups in the yard. always wanted to restore one of them, but just ended up collecting them. I did a restomod on one with 1 tons, but sold it before I finished it. I'd love to find a nice FJ45LV or Iron pig though.

The point if a classic car build is to get something completely impractical. If I wanted a practical car I'd buy one, not build it.
12/16/2008 10:00:52 PM
you're the one to talk id love to build a old school chevy.. but if i wanna build it, its gonna be right.the honda would be nice as something to just mess with.
12/16/2008 10:03:12 PM
I passed one just like this on Hwy 70 in Garner today, believe it or not.
12/16/2008 10:42:03 PM
yeah, ive seen a few. not lately though. last i saw/heard was the one in raleigh some guy was trying to sell for $300. def. something i would have been interested in. but im guessing he got rid of it before i found him.

Deloreans, Porsche 356's, Cobras, Camaros, Mustangs are all available in reproduction form. You don't even have to find an original, every single part is still being manufactured new.
12/16/2008 11:34:19 PM
1976 Celica GT
12/16/2008 11:56:31 PM
I'd like to own each of these when I have proper garage/warehouse space to keep them. No plans to build them myself when I could own a nice example of both cars for around $60k total (Cobra in kit form.)
