^I remember seeing something similar on wral about farm raised tilapia:

Agreed about steps 1-3. Call me a seafood snob, but being raised on an island...farm-raised fish, of which tilapia is one, is unduly bland. Fresh fish is better...support NC commercial fisherman...their jobs are being out-sourced to Asia and the fish that's coming back? Your tilapia.Besides, there are way better fish to eat, even if it has to be farm-raised... : (

farm raised typically has less pollution in it, but it's not going to taste as good.

i only use imported flour from southern indonesia with my tilapia, lightly sifted through only the finest hand-formed copper shaker availablealong with my meticulously groomed fresh parsley, lovingly diced on the diagonal

i use this recipe for parmesan tilapia all the time, and it's really easy1.) preheat broiler2.) mix 1/2c parmesan cheese (i prefer grated), 1/4c soft butter, 3tbsp mayo, 2tbsp lemon juice, and herbs (basil, pepper, celery salt, onion powder) together and set aside3.) broil fillets just below heat for 2-3 minutes, flip, broil for another 2-3 minutes, take out and cover with mixture, broil for another 1-2 minutes until topping is browned and fish is flakytakes all of 10 minutes to do and it's sooooooooo good

farm raised tilapia has almost no Omega-3 content and has more arachidonic acid than bacon. If I'm going to eat garbage protein sources, I'd rather just stick with bacon.
