Finally went and picked up my brand new 2008 G8 GT. The thing is absolutely amazing in every aspect. I absolutely love this car and am totally pleased with my purchase. Enough talk here are the pics...
12/8/2008 3:38:56 PM
thing's not nearly as ugly as i thought
12/8/2008 3:46:12 PM
It takes a little more than a day to say you're actually pleased with the car.. that's like saying you're totally happy with a marriage on the honeymoon lol
12/8/2008 4:14:18 PM
Well if you're not happy on "the honeymoon" when will you be? Nice choice, looks good! What are the HP/Torque specs on those? Is it an LSx engine, or a version of the newer 5.3?
12/8/2008 4:19:44 PM
It is a L76 6.0 liter V8Rated at 361 hp and 385 tq
12/8/2008 4:27:40 PM
Hell yeah man, sweet ride!We should meet up and have a "new red car" photoshoot
12/8/2008 4:36:37 PM
Take the stupid plate off the front and the plate frame off the back.
12/8/2008 4:42:30 PM
Agreed. First thing I did was remove the one on the front of my car. And I play on removing the Infiniti of Lake Norman rear plate b/c that's just silly. A nice shiny NCSU one will take its place
12/8/2008 4:44:54 PM
^^ lol yeah I am definitely going to do that just have been real busy and didnt feel like messing with it at the moment
12/8/2008 4:47:22 PM
^^Hey I've got a car from them.
12/8/2008 5:00:46 PM
Congrats man, very nice car. Of course im a bit partial.
12/8/2008 8:05:14 PM
is the plastic trim from the pass. side transmission tunnel falling off?[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 9:21 PM. Reason : congrats.]
12/8/2008 9:21:06 PM

12/8/2008 9:24:27 PM

12/8/2008 10:24:19 PM
yeahh, try working with those bastards on interior plastic parts all the way from design to day to day productioni can't believe a single fucking car fits together properly to be honest.
12/8/2008 10:30:34 PM
Oh I understand, my last car (before my truck that is) was a 98 trans am....this G8 however has a much better interior than other GM's I have been in
12/8/2008 10:53:00 PM
who else thinks that is a blatant ripoff of a 330i with new tailights?vs.[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason : vs.]
12/8/2008 10:57:41 PM
A lot of the new sedans look alike.I'd better watch what I say though or the BMW fanbois here will pull their collective knives on me.
12/8/2008 11:29:57 PM
^ I agree...personally I think the G8 looks much more like an Acura TL than a BMW
12/8/2008 11:41:10 PM
12/9/2008 12:23:15 AM
^ and is not out yet eitherpersonally I didn't want a manual since this is going to be my dd and I will be in plenty of bumper to bumper traffic with it now that I am entering the workforce and the sweet raleigh commute.

12/9/2008 12:27:46 PM

12/9/2008 12:29:29 PM
Got my STi the same way.Sadly I will be paying for my G8GT for quite a long time. skywalkr Checkout http://www.g8board.com for mods and other info. Pretty helpful group. Just ordered Corsa mufflers for mine today.
12/9/2008 12:34:23 PM
yep graduation gift I sure won't deny the fact that I am lucky as hell to be getting such a nice gift from my parents.^ I will definitely check them out...I am on LS1tech (have been for almost 4 years now) and they have a G8 section...not as active as that board of course but people on that site are extremely knowledgeable about cars[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 2:51 PM. 12/10/2008 2:17:55 AM
is this the pontiac thread now?
12/10/2008 2:36:19 AM
Meh, I got some money when I graduated high school to buy a new car. I bought another used car with about 1/3rd the money, put the rest in mutual funds. Fast forward almost a decade, the mutual funds are still where they were, but I know how to fix cars... This is why presents like a new car are nice, because a lot of people could never justify buying one for themselves, me included.
12/10/2008 2:44:09 AM
true. my parents helped pay for about half of my ram. only reason i would have gotten it new. i really doubt i'll ever buy another new car. unless it's something really awesome.
12/10/2008 4:27:12 AM
12/10/2008 8:03:38 AM
yeah I would have definitely rather bought a used car and kept the rest of the money but my dad said that wasnt how it works...he wanted me to have a new car of my own, something nice, with a warranty, and something that if I take care of it will easily last the next 10 years of my life. Its not like you are going to say no in a situation like that
12/10/2008 8:56:57 AM
haha, my dad says helping me buy a new truck was one of the worst mistakes he's make because i "ruined" it. guess i can't blame him, it's been sitting on jackstands for like the past 3-4 years.[Edited on December 10, 2008 at 12:50 PM. Reason : ^^vogues WHAT][Edited on December 10, 2008 at 12:52 PM. Reason : btw, the g8 is hot a fuck though... i think my parents are getting one to replace my mom's dts]
12/10/2008 12:50:15 PM
LOLtomatic transmission
12/10/2008 2:32:14 PM
^what's so funny, it'd still stomp an RX-8's ass
12/10/2008 7:23:38 PM
Are those intake slots on the hood FEREAL?Also, this car looks like none of the other cars posted. Newsflash: All sedans have 4 wheels, 4 doors, head lights, tail lights and windows. Unless it's a chinese car, I promise you it's not a "blantant rip off of" or a "copycat" or a "slightly different" version of anything you think you see.
12/11/2008 8:04:47 AM
12/14/2008 11:42:10 PM
^don't be an idiot
12/14/2008 11:43:44 PM
if those hood scoops werent, that is probably the first thing that i would be changingof course, there could be negative pressure there and no effect of opening them up

12/15/2008 1:37:57 AM
They actually vent.G8 is a nice car driving the proper wheels.Grats.
12/15/2008 3:31:55 AM
yall hear that pontiac acronym, right?eh?
12/15/2008 7:19:24 AM
my family has had a few pontiacs over the years, and they've proved to be very reliable. granted they were ~5 years old when my dad bought them, I have no idea how the new ones are. All of ours had over 100K and were still running fine. it is a p.o.n.t.i.a.c. though.
