Section 128 again. I actually enjoyed my seats and I'll be even closer this game.

Site: RBC Center
Date: November 30, 2008
Time: 2:00 PM EST

Opposing Team: University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1-2)
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Nickname: Spartans
Conference: Southern Conference
Head Coach: Mike Dement, second stint as UNC-G coach, coached at cornell, assistant at ECU and Duke
Last Game: 73-60 L @ Central Arkansas
Leading Scorer: Mikko Koivisto (18 ppg) (from Finland)
Leading Rebounder: Ben Stywall (8.3 rpg)
Assist Leader: Mikko Koivisto (3 apg)

UNC-G has lost to both D-I opponents they've played this season, Charlotte and Central Arkansas.

Keys to the Game: Continue building on good team play shown in the Winthrop game. Toss it inside and let the big men put it up and draw the fouls. Brandon, I'm still looking forward to you returning to your freshman game. You look good physically, but the outside shots you've been taking have been atrocious. We've seen you do it, you just have to get it done again.

Hopefully they can continue building with this game b/c our next game is going to be a tough one against Davidson in Charlotte (which I'll be at).

Bump for tomorrow's game. Let's carry the emotions from the Miami smack down to the RBC Center.

^^No, the Davidson game will be when the exposure for what this team is really like will begin.

This is year 3. This is going to be Lowe's defining year at NCSU. We are going to suck, how bad is the question.

i think based on the recruits we are after right now, that we should start suspending hates this season.

question calls or aspects of the games, not the coach our our players.

its rediculous

Let's get a good crowd there today. I know it's raining but us students have one last live sports break before finals. This is it. Be there.

I've never had a problem getting a ticket outside the arena.

Especially with the rain maybe keeping people away, there should be some cheap ones.

Did you take sports management in college? I can only assume so, with such an insightful prediction. I've been to several games. Are we going to be awesome? No. Are we going to be better than last year? As of now, I'd say yes. And that's without our two leading scorers and rebounders. Much will hinge on Degand's health. Let's hold off judgment til a little further down the road, k? Most people (including myself) wrote-off the football team early in the season. I've been pleasantly surprised since.

i disagree as long as we can make it through the cupcake games convincingly...
the team will have more to play for, they will be getting along, for a change

ive seen more smiling and bonding from the team in three games than i did all last season so... keep it up and keep improving

Just got back from the game, and we're playing much more like a team than we were last year. An overall good game, with the few expected lulls. McCauley dominated with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Fells had a nice game with a few spectacular dunks, and Smith went 7-11 with 14 points. He's been scoring almost as many points as minutes he gets. He's going to be a beast. Costner sucked, but he has had 5 blocks in the last two games.

costner started out hustling well and making plays but foul trouble just took his head out of the game immediately and he did not get it back

I like seeing McCauley and Smith working inside efficiently. Courtney Fells is the life of this team. He needs to be in top form every game to give us a chance to win. Costner is still a . I'm looking for CJ Williams to start contributing more. You can tell he's athletic by the way he runs the floor and he in the starting five as a freshman, but he hasn't taken chances scoring like I'd like to see him.

^Piss poor excuse. We packed Carter-Finley for William and Mary coming off of 2 losing seasons and a 34-0 loss to South Carolina. Plus even when we have good teams and a compelling OOC opponent, the place is empty. We could go into the Marquette game undefeated and still only have 9K show up, if that. I know corporate seats are an issue, but I doubt theres many corporate seats upstairs.

Until we can start packing the RBC Center on a regular basis, we need to shut our mouths about Carolina fans not going to football games.

we should start smith with big ben, give us two post-up men, one of which is a proven passer.

i think smith would do even more damage if he moved around a bit more when he isn't calling for the post-up pass. also, why the hell does lowe keeping doing that 5 person lineup swap?

Football is completely different than basketball. It's an all-day event (w/ tailgating, etc.) and there are only 7 home games. Basketball has plenty of home games. We play a ton of games against opponents that no one really cares about (UNCG, WSSU, etc). If we ever pack 20k in for a game against UNCG.. it'll be time to build another arena.

If State plays well during their OOC games, we'll pack the house for ACC play. If they don't, or if they completely shit the bed against ACC opponents, it'll be back to 12-15k per game.

I know some of you tailgate for basketball, and that's cool. I go to all the games as well, but if we really want a packed house then we should move all but 1 or 2 of our OOC games to Reynolds. 7k in Reynolds looks a lot better than 7k in RBC.

The crowd was kind of sad, but it should be understood on why (mainly b/c it is nothing new).

My g/f and I were lucky b/c the SWPC gave us 2 tickets to sit with them b/c their section was only 1 or 2 rows deep of people.

Our perimeter D today leaves me hopeful for Davidson. put Fells on Curry. Tracy/Ben/Brandon need to step up and dominate inside.

We can't fall in love w/ shooting 3s b/c today was shakey. Wide open? sure, but we should have the size and athletisism to focus in an inside game.

I have been thoroughly impressed with Fells this year thus far. Maybe too soon to tell, but it looks like he has the sense of urgency in a senior as he should. Let's hope it carries on throughout the year.
