bjs is closer to my house.. but sometimes they are higher on gas. Not that id ever drive OUT of my way for gas.

What y'all mother fuckers buy at Costco?

Just got my membership a few weeks ago and trying to figure what the really good deals are. We finally ran through my wife's breast milk, so I've got an empty freezer I can stock full of meats and shit. The one meat that really stood out was the thick bone-in pork chops. Might have gotten 10 pork chops for $13. Other than that, I have a hard time remembering what I pay for small amounts of meat in regular grocery stores compared to the bulk offerings at Costco.

Produce? I mean, we got some brussel sprouts and green beans to eat for this week, but that means we'll be eating brussel sprouts and green beans for 4 out of 7 nights (those are big ass packages). We're a family of three with a small toddler, so unless you've got a family of 4+ with two grown kids, I can't see us getting a lot of produce out there.

We definitely stocked up on tinfoil/ziplocks/etc. Briefly contemplated getting one of the vacuum sealers...but want to see how comfortable I feel first with buying bulk.

We do like their Kirkland frozen shrimp and wild caught salmon (not Kirkland brand). We've been eating healthier and doing just salmon and a veggie at least once a week and salads with grilled shrimp another night or two. Will be trying out their Kirkland brand frozen chicken this week as well.



Also get our liquor there. Tanqueray and our tequila brand is a good $8 or $9 cheaper than the cheapest liquor store around here.

We had a mountain weekend and bought the 48-pack out of sheer curiosity. The Kirkland Light wasn't awful; it wasn't great either. But after we went through 3-30s of Bud Light playing drinking games, the 48-pack of "K-Sig" came in handy.

Produce can be tricky: I like to get peppers and onions - do all the chopping at once and freeze a mix that I will use later for stir fry or fajitas. I'll buy bananas if they are mostly green, since it takes about a week to go through 3-lbs. Clementines are a good deal as well. We are the same with fresh Brussels sprouts and green beans too - we'll have them several meals in a row but I try to prepare them differently.

I also like to the the 6-pack of Kirkland chicken breasts. Those are also nice to keep in the freezer.


I keep a jar of the Kirkland pesto in my fridge at all times. They also have really good salsa and hummus if I'm having friends over.

Giant bags of Starbucks or Dunkin ground coffee or beans - if you like coffee, of course. Protein powder/bars, almonds or nut bars for afternoon snacks.

Vitamins, OTC painkillers, eye drops, facial wipes, dove bar soap, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets.

Some things I will only buy a couple times a year; others I grab each time I go.

I really liked BJs when I lived in CT. No huge difference, but you could use/stack coupons at BJs (at least 5 years ago I could).
