Quote :
" LOS ANGELES— Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy” is a reality.
The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. “Chinese Democracy,” infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.“ We never thought this day would come,” Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “But now that it’s here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.”
Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20 ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper’s Web site. They’ll be honored until Feb. 28.
Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. "

You can thank me in advance.

I am thinking that the promo hyperlink will be easier to find on their text site (http://www.drpepper.com/text/index.aspx) vice this Flashplayer BS on their mainpage.

Less than six hours remain.

Dr. Pepper just completely shat on their promise of free drinks for everyone.

http://www.walletpop.com/article/_a/bbdp/dr-pepper-free-soda-coupon-offer-a-bust/257938

Quote :
"(Nov. 23) - If you offer a free soda coupon to everyone in America but your Web site can't handle the traffic, did you keep your promise?
In March, Dr Pepper said it would provide that coupon if the Guns N' Roses long-awaited 'Chinese Democracy' album actually dropped in 2008. The album, in production since 1994, is on sale Sunday. The coupon was to be available for 24 hours at Dr Pepper's Web site starting at 12:01 a.m.
But repeated attempts by WalletPop.com staff to reach drpepper.com have resulted mainly in a longtime "loading" message on the main page. When we have managed to get in, the coupon location isn't immediately clear. It's apparently behind "Promotions" and then "Free Dr Pepper" -- but then that page wasn't loading for us, either.
"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in an earlier statement on the album's release. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."
Or is it?
A call to Dr Pepper's media relations team was not immediately returned."

I hereby boycott Dr. Pepper in the future. (not hard to do since it's always lined up right next to its competitors)

Honestly unless I was gonna get one of those coupons and copy it a thousand times it's totally not worth my address or time just for one free Dr Pepper. Soda's bad for you anyway...

my apartment complex still has an old coke machine where cans cost 65 cents

might as well be an antique

...in fact, the diet cokes taste like they're ten years old

it could've been how it was stored; diet ones go downhill pretty quick if they're left in the heat (like a garage) b/c the aspartame degrades

dr pepper is going to sell your information to third-parties, therefore they arent losing money as the third parties will pay more per person for info than they will lose on a single soda per person.

plus, not everyone will get a soda and the majority of people who send in a coupon or whatever will completely forget about it or won't feel its worth bitching over a $1 soda

Yes, this is why it wouldn't make sense that they are not competent enough to do a simple goddam promotion.

Strangely, this issue has actually made me less likely to want to buy Dr. Pepper (even though I know the same company makes other sodas too).
