God the Bills are horrible3 INT in the first quarter, 4 straight losses, and the famous wide right field goal. Kelly looks like he is gonna implodeThis guy was found in a garbage can after the game, solid as a brick* Why are the panthers never on ESPN? We are 8-2 for fucks sake and all we hear about is the Giants and the god damn cowboys. Only mexicans pull for the cowboys, everyone knows that. The Bills lost the game for themself. That FG should have never missed, but... WIDE RIGHT.GG Bills...

The Panthers have a rather small fan base. Teams like the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, and Redskins have much larger fan bases. Why are you not hating on the Steelers? They are on TV every single week. It's money man, outside of NC and SC no one give a shit about the Panthers. Not to mention they are boring. Hasn't Delhomme failed to pass for 100 yards the last two weeks against the Raiders and Lions? I don't want to watch that on prime time. [Edited on November 18, 2008 at 11:51 AM. Reason : sdf]

^ Does have a good point.Hell I like watching the Steelers and Giants more than the Panthers. Though I dont really have a particular favorite team in Pro sports.

I do like to see RB's gather 268 yards in a game...

PANTHERS ARE THE MOST BORING TEAM IN THE NFL!!!!!!!!!damn it if i dont have to go to a bar every damn sunday to escape the pure blandness of football that is the carolina panthers
11/18/2008 12:30:31 PM
I agree that the Panthers are incredibly boring, but unfortunately so are the Steelers and they're usually nationally televised. And don't go throwing around 8-2 after the Panthers should have lost against 2 of the 3 worst teams in the league the last 2 weeks.

busting off 60 yard rushing touchdowns is boring!!!1

^exactly... it may not be the prettiest 8-2, but 8-2 nonetheless, better than the precious cowboys, redskins, eagles, and all of the afc besides the titans (whom if u want to talk about terrible schedules, there is your case)On a related note... i have never seen a schedule as easy as the Bucs... It is rediculous and is gonna make it hard for us to win the division...Sep 7 @New Orleans Sep 14 Atlanta Sep 21 @Chicago Sep 28 Green Bay Oct 5 @Denver Oct 12 Carolina Oct 19 Seattle Oct 26 @Dallas Nov 2 @Kansas City Week 10 BYE Nov 16 MinnesotaNov 23 @Detroit 1:00pm Nov 30 New Orleans 1:00pm Dec 8 @Carolina 8:30pm Dec 14 @Atlanta 1:00pm Dec 21 San Diego 8:15pm Dec 28 Oakland 1:00pm
11/18/2008 1:13:41 PM
Fine I'll give them 8-2 but with how they played in becoming 8-2 i see them losing 5 of the next 6...@ Atlanta L@ Green Bay LVs. Tampa LVs. Denver L@ Giants L@ Saints Walthough to me the win could also be Denver, but I don't see them winning both.
11/18/2008 1:18:18 PM
^i think 3-3 is more realistic... but im actually glad we are gonna get tested the next 6 weeks, see what we are made of... if we are "pretenders" then we will be exposed, if not then we will have great prep for the playoffs
11/18/2008 1:20:59 PM
I'm thinking 3-3 as well. We always play down to crappy teams (hence the past few games). We aren't a powerhouse but I don't see us losing 5 of those 6 games.[Edited on November 18, 2008 at 1:25 PM. Reason : ]

This thread represents a basic misunderstanding of how the televising of NFL games works. The teams playing on MNF are decided before the season begins. Forgetting market sizes, the NFC East had three playoff teams and the Super Bowl champion last year. The Browns were expected to be an exciting offense team on the rise. The Panthers, on the other hand, were a below average team in a below average division. Don't complain now. Complain if Panthers ride their easy schedule deep into the playoffs this season and then get boned by MNF NEXT season.

I think you can make a pretty good argument that the NFC east is the most "watched/followed" conference there is. All the teams are in big markets, have been around for a long time, have won/been involved in super bowls, etc etc. It is really the most consistent conference too, with none of the teams moving or being expansion teams. The conference has 11 super bowls, and 8 teams that lost in super bowls. Equates to a large following.Unfortunately for the rest of us, it means these teams are crammed down our throats 24/7. I personally don't see a ton of difference between the Panthers and the Giants outside of QB play, but whatever. But I don't know how you can go through all the effort of the OP, and not include the Browns. I can't believe how many times we have had to watch that crappy team full of wannabee stars play on national television.

The Giants are definitely the class of the NFC, but the Panthers just tend to play down (or up) to their opponents' level...I think the Giants definitely have a better offensive line than the Panthers though
11/18/2008 5:26:00 PM
I never said "the Panthers are amazing just like the Giants!"Just that the teams are pretty comparable.

Really interesting the debt percentages of those teams. If I am reading this right, it shows how much Dallas really makes as a franchise. Dallas, the Giants, and Jets are all involved in new stadiums. The Giants and Jets will share the new stadium, I believe, as in the old stadium. But their debt percentages are 39%, 55%, and 68% respectively. Even with the absolute monster of a stadium Dallas is building. An argument against that is the huge chunk of the bill Arlington is paying. $325 mil out of the total $1 bil cost of the stadium.
11/18/2008 10:18:52 PM
Since 2003, the Panthers are 2-10 against the NFC East in regular season play, so I would QUIT BITCHING. Since 2004 they are 0-8...The games which are going to be televised are decided before the season, so Im glad you guys are 8-2, but thats not where most predictions had you. Don't hate on the system that promotes teams that have a larger following and bring in more money. It's not even like the NFC East is doing poorly and you rather watch good teams play, most would argue that its the toughest division in football.
