11/16/2008 5:08:12 PM
its like futbol
11/16/2008 5:08:34 PM
what the funki thought there were no more ties in the NFL
11/16/2008 5:08:41 PM
no, there have always been ties in the nfl
11/16/2008 5:10:39 PM
Eagles should be fucking ashamed of themselves. The Bengals?? Really? LMAO at McNabb. I wonder if hes gonna use that same line he used after the Redskins game when he said he thought they should have won their last three games because "they were the better team"Donovan McNabb = Faggot
11/16/2008 5:11:23 PM
^ No, he'll just use the "I'm a good player, but I don't know the rules" line. Dumbass didn't know games end in a tie after 15 minutes of OT. Andy Reid, WTF punting on fourth down under two minutes in OT. A tie is the same as a loss at this point in the Eagles season. FUCK YOU EAGLES!
11/16/2008 8:53:33 PM
^^With their second string QB. Palmer didn't play.

mcnabb: "the game can end in a tie?"
11/17/2008 8:21:54 AM
whats the second worse thing than losing to the bengals... tying them
11/17/2008 9:36:42 AM
shit, tieing is just as bad
11/17/2008 9:39:50 AM
We also had the first 11-10 outcome in history.
11/17/2008 9:58:55 AM
And...The panthers had the most rushing in team history (264 yards)
11/17/2008 10:45:11 AM
and....the giants ended the longest active (and 2nd longest ever) streak for a team to not allow 200+ rushing yards.[Edited on November 17, 2008 at 10:54 AM. Reason : the ravens' stread]
11/17/2008 10:47:57 AM
I know it was Thurs, but I believe Cassell was the 1st QB to pass for 400 and rush for 60

ro-sham-bo best of 9
11/17/2008 11:49:57 AM
It's almost more fair than letting a coin flip decide the outcome.
11/17/2008 12:10:41 PM
so what happens with a Tie in the playoffs or the superbowl?
11/17/2008 12:17:23 PM
They keep playing until someone scores in the playoffs.
11/17/2008 12:22:14 PM
They keep playing in the playoffs until someone wins. In the regular season someone decided 15 minutes of overtime was enough.Hockey used to go this route, playing one overtime period during the regular season, and if no had scored during that time, it was a tie. In the playoffs however, you keep playing until someone wins. I believe the NHL record for overtimes is 4 (off the top of my head as a guess), but the Hurricanes' minor league team had a 5 overtime game in last year's playoffs. Then they got rid of the tie rule and replaced it with a shootout to decide a winner. Maybe the NFL should have each team's kicker line up from about 35 yards out and trade field goals, backing up 5 yards for each successive round until one team hits it at a certain yardage and the other misses.
11/17/2008 12:23:11 PM
^ That is the coolest idea I've ever heard. It's like a shootout for special teams.
11/17/2008 12:25:53 PM
or since it happens so rarely, just let it be a tie & move on for the next 5-6 yearsthe idea that either of those teams deserved a win is laughable
11/17/2008 12:26:08 PM
last one was pit and atl and it the half game kept the steelers out of the playoffs at 10-5-1regardless, the nfl overtime system is flawed
11/17/2008 12:28:04 PM
Surprised that it hasn't been brought up yet in this thread that McNabb didn't know there were ties in the NFL (wtf dude how long have you played in this league again?) until the game ended.
11/17/2008 1:14:01 PM
^don't worry, it had been brought up
11/17/2008 1:20:46 PM
god dammitI read the thread twice and missed it both timeso well
11/17/2008 1:22:48 PM
no probs, we'll consider it a tie
