^not a very popular thread... this one already has more posts

i personally believe (I personally beleeeeeeeeeeeeeeive) that this is the best rivalry in college football because the games are good and those two fan bases really fuckin hate eachotherits just hate, i love it and both the horseshoe and bighouse atmosphere are already near unparalleled as it isputtin all that together is beautifulthat and the contrast in colors, i hade rivalries where the color are kinda the same
11/16/2008 3:04:36 PM
it's sad to say this, but i hope OSU wins. i'm a fan of the kick them while they're down strategy, and michigan has never had a worse season as far as losses are concerned.
11/16/2008 3:09:20 PM
^very true from what ive seen, i know people are LOVING this for michigan this year
11/16/2008 3:13:14 PM
I really hope Michigan wins because I don't want OSU to have a chance of going to a BCS Bowl.[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 3:55 PM. Reason : unless it's Oklahoma State]
11/16/2008 3:52:45 PM
Michigan doens't have a chance in hell. The OP prediction of OSU -35 seems accurate.
11/16/2008 3:59:20 PM
I don't understand the second post.Yes, I get what it is.But it's 0% applicable to the thread.....ah 'twas Ernie. No further explanation needed. (he doesn't understand what the term means)[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 4:29 PM. Reason : ]

^ He sorta has a point. It's certainly still the most storied and heated. But best? This year? No way. The Game has no NC implications, and probably not even conference champ implications so long as Penn State can maintain. With all the other great rivalries this year in which both teams are in the spotlight, this one probably won't mean much to anyone but Michgan / osu people this year.
11/16/2008 5:50:31 PM
11/16/2008 5:54:47 PM
^ And yet again, you fail to connect how the term "bandwagon" has anything to do with the arbitrary criteria you have attempted to establish.
11/16/2008 5:56:23 PM
1st post: guy who did not attend the University of Michigan2nd post: bandwagon jokeseveral posts later: Wyloch being dense as fuck
11/16/2008 5:58:01 PM
Okay then...a bandwagoner is someone who attaches themselves to a new fad or trend because it's the popular thing to do.The guy who started this thread was born in Detroit and pulled for Michigan (along with the ~dozen or so relatives who did attend) since birth.Furthermore, despite Michigan sucking royally this year, the guy who started the thread is clearly still fanatical as ever about Michigan - which is fully contradictory to one of the main attributes of a bandwagoner. So, I'll give you one final chance to redeem your dignity - make the connection.[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:01 PM. 11/16/2008 6:00:59 PM
If you didn't attend the university, you're a bandwagoner. Kudos for sticking through the tough times, you're still a Wal-Mart fan.
11/16/2008 6:03:21 PM
Well, I give you credit for replying. A+ for effort. You clearly don't understand what the term "bandwagoner" means, nor does your sense of logic seem very advanced. I'm sorry your education has failed you so badly. On a side note: suppose a person pulls for the Red Sox. Under your bizarre standards, are they only allowed to do that if they live in Boston, or have lived in Boston at some point?[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:05 PM. Reason : ]
11/16/2008 6:05:19 PM
forget the term "bandwagoner" if it makes you happy, but you know who you guys are.
11/16/2008 6:09:14 PM
Rules regarding fandom of professional teams are different than those for college teams. It silly to try to make that argument while knocking my "sense of logic".
11/16/2008 6:10:38 PM
^^ Who, lifelong fans who did not attend the school? Yes, certainly - that is indeed the appropriate label, and in no way synonymous with "bandwagoner." No one has been able to counter that as of yet other than to say "nuh uhhh!!!!"...fuck it. More importantly, Wolfpack won this weekend, so let's just get along and you stay out of our thread since you have no stake in the subject matter that it covers.[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:14 PM. According to ErnieIf I grew up as the biggest NC State fan in the worldbut I was also smart as fuck and got a full academic scholarship to DukeI would have to turn that down and attend State in order to not be a bandwagon fanYeah, that makes all the sense in the world
11/16/2008 6:18:31 PM
According to Slave Famous, there's nothing wrong with Carolina fans attending State and still pulling for Carolina. You rescind all previous allegiances when you attend a university. There are exceptions for non-DI schools. That's the rule.[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:21 PM. Reason : ]
11/16/2008 6:20:42 PM
^^that's not true at all.you just can't go to duke and still say 'we' when you're talking about state football.[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:21 PM. Reason : how do people not get this?]
11/16/2008 6:20:50 PM
Again, get over it. Move on. We will solve nothing by continuing to bash two different opinions against one another.
11/16/2008 6:22:32 PM
People who are fans of a school for the 18 years before college aren't going to change allegiances for 4 years at a different collegeIts Downs-level reasoning to think otherwise
11/16/2008 6:26:16 PM
Say that somehow Michigan pulled off the upset. Would you talk shit to a guy that graduated from OSU?[Edited on November 16, 2008 at 6:27 PM. Reason : ]

11/16/2008 6:32:35 PM
State is an average academic school at bestIf I was a fan of State before college (which I wasn't) and got into a better college that I could afford (which I didn't), according to you, I wouldn't be "allowed" to respectfully pull for State anymore, no exceptionsErnieLogic, at its finest
11/16/2008 6:33:12 PM
if you like state to win that's fine and dandy, but you can't go around calling state your team. they're not. state plays for state students and alumns. so does michigan.
11/16/2008 6:34:47 PM
^^
11/16/2008 6:35:05 PM
The alumni of college teams makes up only a small fraction of their fanbaseIf people only pulled for the school they went to, major college sports would be a niche offering, relegated to ESPNU and VersusThe 'bandwagoners' are what make college football and basketball the financial and commercial successes they are
11/16/2008 6:38:20 PM
I actually wouldn't, unless provoked. That's my general policy in sports. I never instigate anything, but will surely follow through if they start it.G'nite TWW!
