OR they could just take yearly odometer readings to calculate the amount of mileage driven, much like electric companies check your electric meter every couple of months. no big brother factor there. i assume that this is for a federal tax. sttate taxes could get complicated since it would be impossible to measure which states the car racking up miles in[Edited on November 12, 2008 at 3:47 PM. ^ except that the GPS could let the govt. know not only which state youre driving in, but what street in what town, so it could very well be put to use for paying state by state taxes.
