I recently downloaded and ran Uniblue's SpeedUpMyPC 2009 because my computer had slowed down a bit since I bought it two years ago. It did "speed" up my computer, however, it's created many headaches in the process. Now my internet and sound card go in and out from time to time, my printer doesn't print most of the time, and my computer doesn't load CDs or flash drives. I tried to load a flash drive and it said it couldn't read it because it was "not formatted" and something about my computer being a "Macintosh"...when it is not, it's a Dell. I'm guessing it just deleted some real vital files. Today I removed SpeedUpMyPC from my computer but the damage has already been done. I've tried System Restore, but it won't let me go back to any previous dates for some reason. Anyways, if I can't find a solution, I think I'm just going to take it to Best Buy and see if they can do some work to it. Anybody have ANY idea what's going on here? Help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

You've been duped. This software did nothing that you couldn't have done yourself (both easily and freely)and you wouldn't have these problems trying to figure out what exactly the software did to your system to fuck it up.As a rule of thumb, stay away from anything that claims to make your PC faster.and dont take it to best buy unless you have more money than sense.I'm sure there are 50 kids on here that could use some burger money and would be happy to fix this for you, and give you tips on how to keep your system maintained.[Edited on November 11, 2008 at 8:22 PM. ^ Best Buy does good work if you don't mind their prices. But, depending on how much they charge you, you might be better of wiping the drive yourself, selling the computer, and buying a new computer.
