So I'm grinding away on the stock mounts on my Ford 8.8 axle that i'm putting under my Jeep. Anyway, I look up and notice that my sparks had ignited a coil of about 8-9 feet of cannon fuse we had laying on the workbench...that shit went up in flames, caught a few books on fire, melted some shit (including the case of my laptop...which i'm using right now!)....

The kicker...

On the shelf directly above the flames was about 4-5lbs of GUN POWDER that we use for reloading (also, a cylinder of MAP gas for a torch, a few cans of brake cleaner, carb cleaner, etc.)

Yes, I'm a dumbass. Lesson learned.

Honestly havent been doing much grinding/cutting INSIDE the shop...and even today I was in my driveway grinding away, but the sparks were flying 20 feet into my garage.


^meh. We're legal.

But yeah, we've promptly moved the gunpowder to a safe location. Dont have any more fuse though, lol.

Yeah man, i was COMPLETELY freaked out....

I've had a string of bad luck lately....but this was my 3rd major close call and hopefully the bad luck is gone ***knock on wood***

Accident #1 - I was almost rearended on the bike (I was sitting at a stoplight) and the car behind me smashed into the car in front of me, only after I dropped the clutch and swerved out of the way at the last possible second.

Accident #2 - Was pulling a rearend out of a Ford Explorer with it sitting on a flatbed trailer in my backyard. Had the rearend jacked up and hadnt put jack stands underneath it yet. I had opened the rear hatch and was looking straight forward into the car when the jack gave way, causing the car to slam to the ground, and the rear hatch swung shut, missing my head by like an inch. Almost got decapitated on this one.

Accident #3 - Near garage explosion.

All this happened in the last 2 months.

Haha, I dont think i'll have my junk ready anyway. I gonna try and have the 8.8 completely regeared and put in by tomorrow night...

But i've still gotta fab up some rocker guards and mount my front bumper/winch.

Not to mention, i'll be heading to Michigan on thursday for business and wont be back till late friday night.
