11/4/2008 4:41:28 PM
does voting for a 3rd party fit into this thread?
11/4/2008 4:41:56 PM
at least he didn't vote for mccain.
11/4/2008 4:46:01 PM
Oh, I'll be here. Reminding you fucks what you voted for
11/4/2008 4:46:59 PM
Um, and we'll be here reminding you that, having not voted, your opinion doesnt mean jack?Don't you know that people are far more spurned when you cancel out their vote?
11/4/2008 4:52:29 PM
Ahh yes. the old "you have to vote" argument. No I don't. I don't have to give implicit support to a system that is intrinsically broken.
11/4/2008 5:20:29 PM
what a rebel
11/4/2008 5:24:43 PM
you and twista can go complain about the government to each other. because you and he are now members of an exclusive club : the ranks of perpetually irrelevant.so go on, git out.
11/4/2008 5:26:10 PM
GIT OUT! lawls
11/4/2008 5:26:50 PM
I voted for nobody, which is at least different in a subtle way from abstaining.
11/4/2008 5:30:14 PM
I didn't vote for two reasons.1) I couldn't bring myself to pick the lesser of two evils because they both are on par with each other as far as how bad they will be for this country2) I don't follow the rest of politics so I don't make uninformed decisions with voting
11/4/2008 5:31:36 PM
^^ exactly. If I were to go over there and put in an empty ballot, what would that say, really? This way is equivalent, takes far less time, and makes more of a statement: that I voted in the primaries and didn't vote in the general.]

11/4/2008 6:11:40 PM
chit chat?
11/4/2008 6:12:04 PM
This might be some of the most brain dead shit I've ever heard of.
11/4/2008 6:32:15 PM
I might have agreed years ago, but seeing the destruction the Bush administration has caused, I don't really see how you can call the presidential election "bullshit".
11/4/2008 7:59:09 PM
For all the shit that burro throws on this site, I can actually support him on this one. Get off the guy's ass for not voting... I think Duke is right that a vote of No Confidence or something similar would make more of a statement, but it is still fully within reason for him to not vote at all. And there IS some credibility to the statement that a lot of republicans voting in the primaries and not in the general (or for Obama/Barr/None in the general) will send a message to the GOP that people have become dissatisfied with the direction they are going.Contrary to popular idiotic belief, someone IS FULLY WITHIN THEIR RIGHTS TO COMPLAIN, both legally and logically, even if they don't vote. Why? Because when given a choice between different smelling types of shit, it is a rational expression of dissent to refuse to vote for shit. Some do it because they do not want to compromise their ideals by simply choosing the "lesser of two evils", others do it to make a statement about the quality of their normal party or the system in general. Both are legitimate and reasonable.

voting for nobody VS not voting= same thing.you didn't vote.there is no mechanism for "no confidence" voting in the US Voting system.youre "no confidence" vote may make YOU feel better about yourself, but it does absolutely nothing to register any sort of protest whatsoever.its not tracked, it's not counted, it's not noted in any way shape or form.you, as a citizen/voter -- just simply do not exist. you've fallen off the edge of the map and no one cares.
11/5/2008 3:30:57 AM
Well I didn't vote for either Presidential candidate, but I did vote in other races. I am pretty sure they do have statistics that track that sort of thing. Not that any pays attention to them or that you can infer anything from them. Though, like someone else said, if you had a large portion of the population go vote, but not vote in the Presidential race, people would take notice.I prefer not to pick the "lesser" asshole. I would have voted Libertarian, even though I'm not a big fan of the party, but I don't like Bob Barr.
