i've been using the shure e2c's for years now - just this past week one of the ear foam pieces didn't come off when i tried taking the headphones out, so it lodged itself in my ear and i had to pry them out with tweezers. kinda freaky...anyways, i was debating whether to bitch out shure and get a new set of ear foams (or possible earphones for that matter - depending on how gullible they are), or whether it's time to invest in another pair of a more current model.i already have sennheiser hd555s but i use the shure e2cs for travel, or for doing stuff nobody else in the house is supposed to hear so those two things are important to me. i game with them as well from time to time so they can't be crappy. i don't mind not having enough bass because i got used to it with the shure e2cs and games don't really need bass, at least not the ones i play.thoughts?[Edited on October 16, 2008 at 5:55 PM. if i were you i'd get the best shure's you can afford - i've got the 420s and love them - a friend of mine has the 530s and the bass is a tad better

I've still got the E4's. I looked up the SE530s on eBay and they're selling for nearly half of what retail stores are selling them. $279 vs $499
