It will read dvds flawlessly. never any problems. but one day about a year ago i installed some modem drivers off a cd, had a some problems getting it to work, but it finally took. after that, nada.it hasn't been much of a problem for me because everything worthwhile comes in DVD format now anyway. but I just got a "brand new" *unopened* version of MS Flight simulator 04 and am stoked about getting into that kind of boring shit.i cloned the disks into image files and transfered them to my HDD and use nero image drive to install (like i always do nowadays since they started doing the "must have X disk in drive to play" bullshitthing is, whatever errors they inserted onto the last disk to prevent people from doing exactly what Im trying to do, actually works. I tried ripping it raw, raw userdata and simple userdata. nothing seems to trick it.So, in lieu of any idea on how to fix my DVD/CD drive, any tips on how I can circumvent this totally awesome security "feature"?p.s: It INSTALLED correctly (i assume) off of the disk/disc in question, it just wont read it as a key[Edited on October 16, 2008 at 1:31 AM. try using alchoal 120% to rip them. it rips the copy protection zones along with the data. It will also emulate the copy protection.
