I have a honda, had tint for 3 years now and i have to go thru this every year but the person i keep going to is bsin me tryna take my whole paycheck. the thing is is that my tint is only below, its right at 30

i just need some friends in the automotive industry can anyone lend a helping hand?

well the thing was that when i got it done i told the ppl that i wanted 20, i was young and dumb at this point in my life but i have really grown accoustomed to my dark windows over the years, and yes it is worth those few percent, and honestly its not that hard, i just wanna do it somewhere where they wont want my whole paycheck.....i think it is actually 26% i just realized that the limit was 35%...i thought it was 32%

no, you have it backwards, the percentage is light emitted, so the lower the number the darker the tint.....example: 5% is known as limo tint

the law says that the limit is 35% +/-3%. this is to make up for the light blocked by clear glass.

so it's really 32%

mine checks 31.5% every fucking year.

the worst thing about mine is it's 35% paper and with the glass it checks 31.5%. i guess dodge just used darker-than-normal glass on mine or something. the tint was on there when i bought it. what pisses me off the most is seeing someone whose shit is obviously illegal driving around when i (well, actually the guy who had it before me) am trying to obey the law and i'm the one getting hassled. whatever, it's good to have a friend with an inspection station. no i will not tell you where.

This is not the place to ask any kind of question, especially if you're an outsider. All that will happen is exactly what has happened here, a ritual circle jerk will be performed in your thread. Etiquette rule number one: Don't come in here asking for illegal advice. The cops can and do check this site out, and most of us have earned enough speeding tickets and equipment violations so far that we try to keep it on the D/LO. It's like walking up to us and asking for some more of that good pot while there's a cop standing by. And keep in mind...this is a question that has been asked no less than a couple of dozens of times (tint, I mean; that and cheating NC's inspection system). The vast majority of us consider it RUDE to say the least when some stranger comes in here (1) asking a question that's been asked dozens of times, and is even asked by strangers in person when they find out we are car guys, and (2) trying to get around a legal constraint that most of us have just accepted as part of being a car guy...and in the grand scheme of things is a total waste of time to piss in the wind battling.

I guarantee if you went on a ham radio site and asked if anybody knew a way to transmit on ham bands without the proper licensure or at a higher-than-legal peak envelope power or hotrod a CB to put out more than legal power...you'd not only get flamed, you'd get burned to a crisp.
