So, something's wrong with my laptop. When I have it plugged in and closed for a long time (overnight), it will turn off when I open it. While it is closed, the green battery "I'm plugged in and on" light is on. When I start to open it, that light goes off and the computer shuts off. It doesn't respond to pushing the power button at all.To get it to turn back on, I remove the battery and place it back in. This is typically with the laptop unplugged. I then push the power button, after 1 or 2 pushes it starts to boot up, and promptly shuts off after a few seconds. After a short wait and more power button pushing, the laptop finally boots up and goes to an automatic blue screen Disk Check. I skip it Is this a battery problem, or something I can fix with a wipe/reinstall? The battery functions pretty good, I get around 2:30 hours right now...it might've been pushing 3 or more hours when I first got it.

will it run without the battery?

Little slow getting back to this, but as far as I can tell it won't run without the battery. It seems that in order to wake it up from standby/sleep when its docked or plugged in, I have to remove it and then open the laptop. After it starts waking up I can plug it back in. Otherwise, if I just open it, the laptop turns off and goes through its power on oddness.
