Base price:	$40,800 (est) (335i + $1,500)
Drivetrain: Front engine, RWD
Engine: 3.0L/265hp/425lb-ft twin-turbo DOHC 6-cyl diesel
Transmision: 6 speed auto
Curb weight: 3648lb (mfr)
Wheelbase: 108.6in

EPA city/hwy: 23/36mpg (mfr)
0-60 mph: 6.0 sec (mfr)
Top speed: 134 mph (limited)

MT drove the US-spec car for a total of 120 miles in Europe under various conditions: start-stop traffic, high-speed autobahning, and 80 mph highway cruising. The trip cpmputer showed an average of 31 mpg.

Of course, it will eat some sales of the 335i, but I wonder if the lost sales will be significant enough to worry BMW. I also wonder if this engine could be modded/chipped as easily as the 335i's. For some customers, that will be a very important deciding factor.

part of what I love about a bmw is the manual transmission. are there any plans for a transmission option?

Interesting. I wonder if it will live up to one's durability and longevity expectations of a diesel.

^how about 425lb-ft of torque and most likely 40mpg on the highway. And a fun driving experience.

Is that something you might be interested in?
