You HAVE to go to Chucks Steak House. It is sooooo good. We were just down there about 2 weeks ago and ate there. Resonably priced, like 20-25 for a kick ass steak, giant baked potato, and salad bar. Also, go with the 28oz michelob beer. The beer is crap, but the goblet is awesome. Just my opinion tho.

wow how does it get ahead of miami. and key west is hardly a "beach"
10/9/2008 1:12:01 PM
you should go north of north myrtle, to sunset beach.
10/9/2008 1:49:37 PM
south of myrtle....surf side beach is cool too.

North Myrtle Beach is not near as shitty as the rest of Myrtle. The Ocean Drive area still has an authentic old-school feel to it, and there's a lot of cool bars within walking distance of one another. The Spanish Galleion on Saturday Nights is insane ... it literally feels like Panama City in the middle of a Spring Break week. There's another lounge connected to it -- I think just called the Beach Club or something. It seems like a good place to watch sports. They've got a ton of TVs. If you go in to Little River, there's a sports bar called Jimmigans that I've always liked. Also, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings in the Wal-Mart Shopping Center just off of 17.Back to the strip: you're going to want to watch out for Fat Harold's. It'll appear to have a good crowd from the outside, but it's strictly old people shagging. If you're young and don't look like a mutant, the old ladies will rape you.[Edited on October 9, 2008 at 2:06 PM. Reason : ]

My wife and I go to Cherry Grove when we are visiting her family in North Myrtle Beach. Cherry Grove though is like north, north myrtle beach. It really depends where in NMB you are because NMB is pretty damn huge now.

Since you're staying at the Peppertree, the closest decent sports bar will be on the corner of Highway 17 and 14th Ave. South. It's called Overtime and it's pretty decent.I worked at the Spanish Galleon for a few years and the quality of patronage has severely gone down hill. It is also close to where you are staying, but not remotely a Sports Bar. However, if you're looking for nightlife in NMB, that's probably your best bet.If you're looking for some locals, go to Molly Darcys, also not too far from you, on 17th Ave. S. and Ocean Boulevard.Jimmigans is also ok. Full of local posers and drunks, if that's your thing.

drhavoc long time no seesend me a pm if you ever come to greensboro, i may forget to check back in the lounge since my boredom is just about cured

Derbsters in Calabash, if you enjoy the smell of cigarettes and the sight of really old people.
10/9/2008 3:31:02 PM
why would he be looking for locals?

http://www.inletcrabhouseandrawbar.com/Go there. have the grouper bites, some oysters, and soft shelled crab. Or, if you want to get expensive, try Divine (http://www.divinefishhouse.com/)Check out ripley's aquarium too. Broadway at the beach, etc.Sure, it's not an awesome place, but you can find plenty of fun.

I am sittin on my deck here at Beach Cove at the moment, waiting for the hospitality suite to open at 5.... Its about that temp where fat chicks wear bikinis and good lookin chicks cover up. I would vote for warmer or cooler temps.

molly darcys is the shit its right on the beach 16th avenue north myrtle beach really close to the peppertree. i go there alot
10/9/2008 4:51:35 PM
My mom lives in Little River. She use to own the swing bridge saloon and a place called flashbacks that use to be where cowboys is at. People off TWW would like Molly Darcy's. Don't goto the galleon unless you are in high school or are mexican. Goto the sea merchants on 17 across the street from the bowling alley. You gotta goto fat harold's if you want the full experience of NMB. It's the home of beach music.

would like to hear more abot overtime, drove by it a little while ago and it looked pretty nice...
10/10/2008 7:21:57 PM
shrimp and jazz festival in little river tomorrow, should be cool. as far as NORTH myrtle there's not really shit to do. Boadway at the beach is alright (some good restaraunts shopping and bars) but "the strip" aka ocean blvd has gone to shit and the pavillion is gone...

This is late, so sorry.^^ Overtime has like 140 screens and gets nearly every game you can imagine, plus the standard trivia, etc. If I had to compare it to some place around Raleigh, it would most closely resemble Woody's I suppose. Food is marginal, however, IMO, and beer selection is pretty standard.^ Ocean Blvd. hasn't been relevant since the late 80's early 90's due to mismanagement of the theme parks, overbearing cops and crooked politicians in MB, sadly. Now, Hard Rock Park has filed for banktupcy just as many natives had predicted and there's no attraction there at all, as you said.
