lol.Looks like it was a bad idea to punch it when making a left turn out of the McDonald's to impress your friend.

10/8/2008 1:16:52 PM

10/8/2008 1:19:07 PM
^^No, I took a left turn at full speed and experienced understeer. This gentleman applied too much throttle when starting from a standstill and experienced oversteer, and then he over-corrected.^Apparently not.[Edited on October 8, 2008 at 1:20 PM. Reason : ]

Wasn't there also a curb incident with that Mr2 in addition to the guardrail one? I seem to remember two for some reason.Everybody fucks up if they're really pushing their car. I guess that's why it's best to do it on a track or in a similarly safe location. It happens.[Edited on October 8, 2008 at 8:37 PM. Reason : l]

^Yeah.I know I took some pictures for it, but oh well.
10/8/2008 8:48:37 PM
there was that one time where you spun out in front of me on the onramp too
10/8/2008 8:59:27 PM
^Yeah well, about thatSnap oversteer is the tendency of mid-engine design cars to spin out of control easily, often catching inexperienced drivers unaware.CausesSnap oversteer is when a vehicle spins dramatically during a turn (usually unexpectedly). This is most common with mid-mounted engine, rear wheel drive (MR) vehicles. Mid-mounted engine vehicles have a much lower rotational inertia than a vehicles with a front mounted or rear mounted engine. The lower rotational inertia of mid-mounted engine vehicles causes the vehicle to spin much faster than a front or rear mounted engine vehicle. Snap oversteer if unexpected can catch the driver off guard when cornering, ultimately leading to loss of control of the vehicle.Snap oversteer is actually realistically a way of saying when a car oversteers it does so quickly. With the engine in the middle mid-engined cars rotate faster (hence their superior cornering abilities). In the real world an average driver can simply react to changes faster and enjoy more involving driver car interaction.Snap oversteer is induced when the throttle is lifted while mid-way through a corner, often by inexperienced drivers trying to reduce speed after braking too little. With mid-engine vehicles the rule for cornering is "slow in, fast out", rather than "fast in, slow out" for front-engine vehicles. Mid-engine cars are setup with more understeer to prevent entering corners with too much speed.

Haha, I was behind this guy at lunch today. I work off of emperor blvd just down the street and was grabbing a quick lunch at Wendy's (goddamn everybody in my office had already left for lunch or meetings). As soon as I hit the road after pulling out of the shopping center where that wendy's is off miami (whatever the fuck it's called) I heard tires squealing, looked up, saw the guy sliding sorta sideways through the grass, slam sideways into the power pole there (he knocked a big chunk off the power pole, probably reduced its cross-sectional area something like 30-40%), then it flipped around and came to rest in that thicket back there (whatever, the shit with the 8000 thorns I walked through). I was out of my car before they were but the two guys were OK. That guy there wasn't the driver (no idea who that is). The driver was a guy in his 50's with graying hair and who was dressed up in standard corporate stuff (slacks, button up dress shirt, nice shoes, nice sunglasses). His passenger was a younger guy probably in his 30's. They both looked like standard corporate fair: Phones on their clips, fairly expensive clothes, said he worked somewhere just southwest of the accident (pointed). This pic must have been taken after I pulled away. Was there a green jeep cherokee right next to that vette out there when you rolled by (that was me)? Some other dudes pulled up, got out, nosed around for a bit, and hopped back into the car less than 5 minutes later and drove away. I stuck around til the cop got there, the power pole made a *CRACK* noise, and then the cop said "hey let me get your info and get on outta here before that pole falls down". Only two cars stopped, I was one of em, and I was the only one that stuck around. Amazing how helpful people are at lunch time in a corporate park. :/ The wreck happened at like... 12:12pm? I think that was about when... I sent a text to my bro from my phone at 12:16 so the wreck happened at 12:14/12:15.I was out there a good 30 minutes. We spent 10 searching for the driver's regular glasses (both windows were open and they apparently flew off his head). I'd have taken pics but I was more concerned about the guy driving the vette, he was in shock (I also . You are also 100% correct. He gunned it too hard and turned too fast then slid right the fuck off the road when he tried to get into his lane. I couldn't really give the cop more details than "it looked like he hit it going about this speed, I think, based on the damage, and i saw him slide into it like this and the far spun around".You have any pics of the power pole? He nailed the shit out of that thing, his passenger is lucky he didn't get injured more. You can't quite see it there, but the door was really smashed in and kind of pushed up from the car a bit (like the structure of the door was falling apart, I'm impressed that it opened so easily for the guy inside). Also, the power pole got knocked bad enough that there was a gap of about 6-8" where the pole was tilted back from its original position by the car. Lucky for everybody out there that it wasn't windy while we were fucking around under the pole looking for the guy's glasses or we'd have all gotten electrocuted.Alright, sorry for all the words, but yeah, that guy totally fucked up. Waste of a really nice, new car.[Edited on October 8, 2008 at 9:54 PM. Reason : Sorry about the english probs in this post, I'm on something that makes me drowsy as fuck at night.]
