is there a trail that runs from one to anohter? there is a bad ass set of trail at crabtree i want to hit up and i dont want to load up bike drive around highway unload and all that crap.

yes, umstead and lake crabtree are practically connectedtake a look at the map:http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/wium/pics/parkmap.pdfin the lower left you can see where they connect, see Reedy Creek Rd. Also you can drive in on Old Reedy Creek and park on the road there. there are also a bunch of 'illegal' bike trails on airport property in that area too.

yeah, the trails on the north side of I-40 are much more "bad ass" than the Crabtree trails, even though that is still an overstatement

hmm, yeah. have you done pump tracks before? Do you have a mtn bike or a bmx bike? Maybe it's just lack of experience, but I thought the pump track was too tight and small for a full-sized mtn bike. obviously practice would make it much better, but overall it's very short and the turns are so tight it's hard to get a mountain bike around it with much momentum. I imagine it would be much better on a bmx/freestyle bike
