Direct-drive from the late '70s. It's considered one of the best of the classic turntables...has a strobe and pitch control, and a really nice counterweighted tone arm design.Got this thing for a relatively good deal. I think it'll go well with my Marantz 2240 receiver. Here's the thing: It didn't come with a cartridge. From Dual, it came with a Shure V 15 Type III cartridge...but the original Shure and its successors ain't too cheap. Uses a universal mount magnetic cartridge.Anybody got any good input on a relatively cheap cartridge for this one? I'm seriously thinking about restoring it and selling if I don't use with my current setup...and I don't have a hell of a lot of vinyl anymore.

I might be interested, depending on how much you'd want for it (though I'd find myself in the same cartridge situation as you're in right now...) My parents have a Dual 1009f from the early 70's and it's a great old turntable, so I've always kind of wanted one. I seem to remember this question being asked a few years back, and someone recommended talking to the folks at Creative Acoustics. You could give them a call and see if they still have any turnable gurus on staff...
