Lots of great places on cent campus if you know someone who has access to any of the buildings.

i used one of the large conference rooms in poe (4th or 5th floor, center of the building) numerous times when i was at ncsubest place i'd found on campus, huge conference table, plenty of space to spread out, etc

There's lots of places in Tally on the upper floors where people will leave you alone. I used to study on the top floor when waiting for my ex to get off work.

the national resources library. its not rooms but theres 3 huge tables around the bookstacks with unity computers nearby and you will probably be the only ones in there.

In EB1 in Centennial, one the 2nd, 3rd floor, large 6-8 person tables, probably not accessible late at night, but there are tables all over the place in that building.

Just grab any of the study rooms right off the elevators on any floor. I dont think you can reserve them and they easily fit about 8 people.Depending on time, any classroom thats open. I meet with people in random classrooms all the time, we just leave when a class comes in.

You can't reserve it but the Unix computer lab on the top floor of Broughton was always empty when I went there to study between classes. There are some chalkboards and a table that will seat about 8 people.

daniels hall ftw. it's 24 hours so you dont need a key to get into the building, and most of the classrooms stay unlocked after 5pm anyway.

starbucks on lake boone trail, in the same shopping center with sushi thai and near rex, has a conference room that you can rent i think for free

I don't think that qualifies as near campus That said, the Caribou Coffee near Rex also has a conference room and unless something has changed they're open until midnight.

They have kind of weird rules for that room too (again, this might have changed since 2006). To reserve the room, you have to pay for it, but that price also gets you carafes of coffee and I think there might have been some pastries thrown in too? But if you didn't reserve the room, you could still use it but you weren't allowed to close the doors or lower the shades, and if a group was coming in that had reserved the room you had to GTFO. But people very rarely reserved the room so that's not much of an issue, especially after 5pm.

^ Yeah, they changed the rules at some point 1.5 years ago. You used to be able to go in and do whatever you want. I did go up there sometime in I think March of this year and they were all "well we can't let you in there unless you pay for it". I argued that nobody was using the stupid room and they eventually relented after I bought a coffee and some pastry.

That's crap but it doesn't surprise me considering the management there They're high trying to argue with people wanting to use that room since there's a Starbucks right across the street from them that I'm sure wouldn't mind the extra business.

centennial campus. just walk in, sit down and commence studying. most of the buildings are open at night and it's SUPER quiet

^Yep. EB2 is really nice now...when I used to work over there Tara Britt vouched for really really comfortable sofas to be placed on every floor...especially the third if you're over that way. right in front of the ECE departmental offices. OMG i used to take naps there haha. that was the semester i took 20 credits
