I've been looking to adopt a ACD and I've been looking for rescue groups. Does anybody know of any in the Raleigh area? I've looked on petfinder.com, as well as at some of the local shelters, and I've searched the national ACD rescue websites, but so far I've not had much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know that's a breed of dog that needs to be rescued often. My grandpa has a fondness from them, and I think we've usually had to get them from a breeder. I know one we got like 6 years ago from an abusive home, but that was a state over.

I want to try to avoid getting one from a breeder, but I may have to break down and do that. I've seen most of those on craigslist, I've contacted a few of them. Some of them have been adopted already, and some won't get back to me, so I am assuming they've been adopted as well.

They're great dogs

My family has had a ACD mix for 8 years now and this one was abused and is a little neurotic. He is very protective, with smaller dogs, loves herding and is very energetic, I'd get another one in a heart beat. <3
