I've got Azenis for my car, sized 195/65R14
9/30/2008 7:50:47 AM
lolyou should upgrade to the 205/60R14widen that tire up a bit yo
9/30/2008 8:17:25 AM
9/30/2008 8:29:31 AM
9/30/2008 8:30:52 AM
Is that like the OZ Rally Edition Lancer?
9/30/2008 8:41:12 AM
well the 195/65R14 is one of the standard econobox sizes
9/30/2008 8:55:14 AM
And its an awesome size b/c its cheap. Those Azenis are like $80/pop. Or maybe cheaper I don't remember it was a while ago.
9/30/2008 9:51:30 AM
I think that's the size I'm running on the e30. My Falcon ZE-912's were $59 each iirc and I used a coupon for $100 off and free shipping. Cheap is an understatement for that set of tires.
9/30/2008 10:24:07 AM
$300 shipped to my door and $23 to mount and balance at walmart (that's like 5.50 a tire!) = profit![Edited on September 30, 2008 at 10:36 AM. Reason : ]

9/30/2008 11:13:33 AM
PLEASE SON. WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE GETTING SOME CHEAP ALL SEASON TIRES.
9/30/2008 11:15:49 AM
maybe, considering i still have about 50k miles left on my current setwho knows what will happen then
9/30/2008 11:21:07 AM
Ya know, the first thing that came to mind was that they were only like $50/ea but I was like nah thats too low! maybe that was the cost...Thats why I think its fun to race these small cars. tiny tires + tiny brakes = low expenses
9/30/2008 11:47:53 AM
9/30/2008 2:23:35 PM
hell even my 255/40R17 RT615's are fairly cheap. $125/each I'm on my 3rd set and I really love these tires in both wet/dry
9/30/2008 5:40:46 PM
i think i got reemed for like 135per for a 255/40/17 3 months ago
9/30/2008 5:59:41 PM

Real men don't need wide tires to go fast.[Edited on September 30, 2008 at 11:53 PM. Reason : Or pavement, for that matter. That should get this thread back on track.]

autocross skills apply directly to road course driving. Not on a slow course, but on an airfield-type course definitely yes. And you don't have to sell a kidney to compete.
10/1/2008 6:10:08 PM
yeah, i've driven in the snow a few times. i'm sure i could win the d1 championship if i wanted to.i [Edited on October 1, 2008 at 6:18 PM. Reason : i dunno, a shopping cart rolling into your car can cause some expensive damage...]
10/1/2008 6:17:11 PM
lolyou guys act like its the most expensive thing.for crying out loud. its not.$250-300 entry fee. and gas.the wear and tear isnt any different from your autoX. dont think that you're gonna screw your tires/engine up more if you go on a road course.
10/1/2008 6:42:04 PM
10/1/2008 6:51:18 PM
well what i meant was in regards to people saying that it wears your tires out and brakes and all this jazz..autoX does also. its obvious that its more demanding, but both sports put a toll on the car. its no different.
10/1/2008 6:52:42 PM
What the hell man? Of course a track day (or days) wears your car out a hell of a lot more. Tire and brakes. 100+ miles of track duty versus maybe 2 miles total autoxing. And I'd rather do the track event every time. Just can't do them as often
10/1/2008 10:59:17 PM
LOL

10/2/2008 2:35:13 PM
^no you're not comparing it right. A set of tires will last through 2 seasons of autoxing, brakes probably 3-4 seasons. You don't that get longevitity on road courses.
10/2/2008 3:12:11 PM
autox should be free. and it will be here at state to state students. don't believe me? I don't care.
10/2/2008 8:34:51 PM
nigor what?so its free... big deal.its still not worth the trill compared to road course events.i think 100% of us can agree.
