This article really intrigued me. Being a non-American, I still find all this very interesting (the way the POTUS is chosen), if not a bit weird. The "unit rule" seems very unfair [in today's America], as the article also indicates. How can it be scrapped? This is a terrible article and has no chance of happening.I mean I don't want to be a dick or anything but if it is 269-269 there's no way in shit a Dem loaded House will not push Obama in by vote. Just no way.

Wasn't the 2000 election decided by a number of votes in Florida < 500? Don't have to mention that 2004 went against the will of the general population.I don't think having congress break a tie would be a scenario that is much more tolerable or intolerable that what has recently happened.[Edited on September 22, 2008 at 7:15 PM. iirc, 2000 was decided cause 3000 old people couldnt figure out the ballot, and voted pat buchanan instead of al gore
