1989 Nissan 4x4 pickup

Front end sagging BADLY, tried cranking torsion bars, but they were already down (up?) all the way. Tried re-indexing them, went 2-3 splines, same thing. Torsion bars worn the hell out??

worn out. probably be breaking shortly now that they've been cranked, reindexed, and cranked again.

i gotta agree with Ivan. They are prolly shot. I guess they're fatigued to all hell. I personally love torsion bars, and have had quite a few vehicles with them, but like with all springs (and like diaphragm clutches), over time and with enough extreme oscillation, they'll lose their spring.

yeah, thats what i figured. I mean I moved them 3 notches in the right direction to push the LCA down (raising the vehicle) and then cranked the adjuster down 100% and got absolutely zero increase in height.

doubt they will break, i can barely drive it with the front fenders sitting on the 31x10.50 tires
