could be they broke it and didn't want to pay the bux for the factory replacement.There's no good reason to leave a puke tank off. Granted, it's not absolutely necessary to have one, but it does capture overflow that animals might ingest, and the way new radiator caps are designed, the vacuum produced upon system cooldown will draw coolant from the tank back into the radiator.

Interesting... I'm assuming you've checked the radiator fluid level by now. That turbo is water cooled too... not something I would risk running low on radiator fluid.
