the only thing I really laughed at was the michael phelps diet plan, which aired at about 12:55.

btw, there's no point in posting youtube videos of SNL, they'll just get taken down.
They're doing a good job of posting everything to hulu.com very quickly, and the quality is MUCH better than youtube.
Here's the cold opening, which, btw, was the only thing worth watching about last night's show

yeah, a horrible impression of Charles Barkley. Kenan Thompson has no business doing impressions of black people, just because he's black. He's horrible.

Why is Kenan still on the cast? Does he ever do ANYTHING without that constant stupid half-smirk? None of his impressions are remotely close to good, and I can't think of a single lead/recurring character.

Kenan's useless

So, given the pattern for the past 2 weeks, it looks like SNL will have one funny, relevant, socially-aware skit per week, followed by a bunch of crap

^6 Kenan would be three times as funny if he just played his All That characters.

Hell, it would significantly improve SNL in general this season.

The Black French stand up comedian character he did on Weekend Update a few times was pretty funny.

Zut alors!

Duffy is definitely being pushed by the British star-making apparatus and tabloid press, but she still comes off as way more genuine than her American counterparts (Hillary Duff, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana Banana Fo-Fanna, etc. …)."

^^ totally agree. She was amazingly bad....
1) how old is she? Is she an older-looking teenager, or a 40 year old who's been dolled-up to look young? wtf?
2) uuhh, lip-syncing anyone? Hey Duffy - if your mic isn't turned on, don't try to talk into to it before the music starts
3) as long as you're lip-syncing, you might as well find a track where you don't use your incredibly whiny, annoying voice
4) what. the. hell kind of dance was she trying to do....

-----

i missed most of the cold opening, but Tina Fey looked and sounded great again, from what I saw. Not sure what Amy Poehler was trying to do there with Katie Couric, but her being pregnant and as big as a house didn't really help with the impression

you must of not seen the original interview....Katie looked stoned through it all.....her head was tilted to the side and it looked like her eyes were about shut.

We already know who will play Bristol when the wedding happens in a couple weeks....

i was watching this just ot see how they played the debate

really weak

there was so much they could have played with obama constantly shaking his head and saying "thats wrong" and mccain's half-senile shit-eating grin throughout

just weak

those little doll-hands are killing me

----

it's scary, though, how close to being verbatim much of the cold-opening was. They took very few liberties with several of those responses. and I'm glad the really highlighted Biden's craziness on the gay marriage vs. civil union business.

but yeah - once again, of course, Best of Show goes to Tina Fey already.
She's turning her Palin impression into more of a characture than she did at the beginning, but that's good. In the very first Palin sketch (with Hillary), she was dead-on accurate with her voice and looks and mannerisms. Now with the latest two impressions, she's getting into making fun of her a little more by exaggerating her accent, her screechy voice, and her other mannerisms.
