I'm kinda sorta thinking about getting a MacBook Pro.

I've read, though, that some "major" updates are coming this fall. September even. Any idea when or what is expected? Think the current ones will be sold out a discount somehow? What avenues should i be looking at for deals?

Where do you mac folks read to get your rumors and inside info? ha haha

next week is new iPods, but probably not Macbook [Pros].
but maybe some Macbook stuff next month

best place to find deals is the Apple refurb store. I got my MBP earlier his year about $300 off the new-list price, and a while ago I saw the same thing for $500 off. The refurb prices change day-to-day, though, so you have to watch the store

yeh i was trying to make a joke saying "rumors" and "inside" eluding to macrumors and appleinside. alas.

Joe, want to buy me a MBP over there and ship it over?

Its $3400 for a 15" 2.5ghz MBP over here. i told the guy, wtf, mate?

I'll probably wait for the new ones. I reckon i need a job before i get one.
