Hello Hanna!The traditional season-opening downpour returns this year after a brief hiatus.[Edited on September 2, 2008 at 3:35 AM. Reason : .]

game isn't til 6pm, from that map we'd catch the tail end of it, probably a soggy field on a humid day
9/2/2008 7:10:49 AM
It has basically stalled at this point, so I wouldn't put too much stock in the timing of the projected track at this point. If it stays on its current forecast it could possibly mess with tailgating but move out for game time. If it delays just a few hours we could have another game in a tropical storm.
9/2/2008 7:47:39 AM
i will be there.getting wet.hell yeah.
9/2/2008 8:14:57 AM
guess I'll be sitting under the upper deck.
9/2/2008 9:01:49 AM
Nice. Maybe W&M will fumble in their endzone so we can put some points on the board.
9/2/2008 9:17:31 AM
^well played
9/2/2008 10:26:41 AM
when was the last home opening downpour?last i remember is the south carolina game 7-8 years ago maybe?
9/2/2008 12:17:38 PM
It was raining bullets at the Richmond game
9/2/2008 12:19:12 PM
how many injuries will the wet field leave us with?I am guessing we lose 3 more players.
9/2/2008 12:21:53 PM
Seems like it happened every year in the Rivers era as well.Arkansas State was insane (last year with the hill), poured the whole gameNew Mexico had thunderstorms right before kickoff that soaked everyone and delayed the gameAnother opener drowned my cell phone--Indiana maybe?
9/2/2008 12:23:11 PM
Yeah, I'm trying to stay optimistic, but it's not looking good. I really really hope that we get lucky and have a nice day. Go Pack!
9/2/2008 7:38:49 PM
Nice that someone finally made a thread about it. Can't wait
9/2/2008 11:09:18 PM
wow, that's some exponential acceleration up the coast. i bet we only get 1/2 hours worth of rain.
9/2/2008 11:13:03 PM
if there's anything North Carolinians should know by now, it should be that you can't predict a hurricane.
9/2/2008 11:30:35 PM
what game was it in when hurricane/tropical storm Dennis hit?
9/2/2008 11:54:33 PM
'99 against South Carolina..That storm delayed the UNM game...and the Ark State game wasn't THAT bad...
9/2/2008 11:59:02 PM
did i pee my pants at that game?
9/3/2008 12:09:28 AM
you sure did!Sure hurricanes/TSs are unpredictable, but based on these computer models it looks like a slam dunk.
9/3/2008 12:11:34 AM
already knew statefair weather fans wouldn't be at the game but now there won't even be state fairweather fans at the game.
9/3/2008 1:47:12 AM
^^ lol oooooooooo computer models!!!!!!1111
9/3/2008 2:17:09 AM
it was East Tennessee State in either '02 or '03, where either golden or reid returned the opening kickoff for TD in the downpour.
9/3/2008 6:55:29 AM
If any of you don't want to use your student ticket or guest ticket because of the storm, give it me please!
9/3/2008 9:25:13 AM
rumors of game possibly being moved
9/3/2008 9:29:10 AM
it's going to veer off towards the east and not hit us very hard in raleigh like floyd.
9/3/2008 10:04:59 AM
^^show me da rumors
9/3/2008 10:13:18 AM
From the latest charts on the NHC website this is probably just going to be a rain event with a stiff (ok, very stiff) breeze. We only have a 10-20% chance of even seeing sustained winds of 50 knots (58mph).http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/084114.shtml?50wind120#contents

even if they moved this game to thursday or friday nights, it would have trouble competing with local high school games. i am very worried about the crowd on sat. night. thank you daniel evans.
9/3/2008 11:20:51 AM
ahha, the bitch is slowing down means its gonna be right over top of us at gametime.
9/3/2008 11:38:35 AM
9/3/2008 11:48:48 AM
^ but it also means CHUCK MOTHERFUCKING BERRY on friday night
9/3/2008 1:24:20 PM
guy on ESPN just said that people in our athletics department have had meetings about moving our gametime because of this bitch
9/3/2008 3:36:02 PM
unless we move it to friday night at 8 or 9, i sayFUCKTHATNOISE
9/3/2008 3:50:34 PM
Moving game time I can deal with, but I'm not sure how that will help given its current track and the game being at 6 PM already--maybe a day game wouldn't require as much generator capacity if the power is out? If they move the game day they need to refund tickets for those of us coming from out of state.

9/3/2008 4:17:54 PM
if they move it, it wouldn't be moved to friday night. that will be just as bad almost.
9/3/2008 4:21:07 PM
Anyone have a student ticket they want to get rid of?
9/3/2008 5:30:47 PM
Van Denton >>> Lanie Pope >>> That CBS guy
9/3/2008 5:48:46 PM
NHC giving a faster motion now. It's speed has been increasing from previous model runs, to the point where instead of a landfall around Saturday AM, probably 3-4a Saturday morning. This might be out of here by kickoff, if it keeps up this speed. My estimate right now is landfall at Oak Island (SW of Wilmington)[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 6:01 PM. Reason : estimate]

http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/27606?begHour=9&begDay=250good news.... by 1-2pm theres a 45% chance of rain. At 4pm they claim it will be partly cloudy with 20% rain and by 6pm...partly cloudy. I'll take that
9/4/2008 9:08:58 PM
minimal chance of wet tshirts and sun dresses.
9/4/2008 9:23:20 PM
you really think girls would show up to a "social event" if its raining outside.... dont you know humidity fucks their hair up?
9/4/2008 9:37:00 PM
Get the ponchos ready.
9/4/2008 11:28:37 PM
