2008 Football Student
Ticketing
Priority Point System:
• Students will now start the season
with a tiered priority point system.
A student’s priority points will be
based on their academic standing
with the Registration and Records
office
• Seniors & Grad Students – 5 pts.
• Juniors – 4 pts.
• Soph. – 3pts
• Fresh. – 2 pts
• Each game attended with a valid
ticket will result in a 1-point
priority gain.
• The more points you accrue,
the better chance you have to
win a ticket to Wolfpack
Football!!

Stand-by Line:
• On-Demand phase has been
extended until 6 hours prior to
the Football Game, tickets are
subject to availability.
• Students who did not claim a
ticket during the week may
show up on game day and wait
in a stand-by line located at
gate 11.
• The stand-by line will enter the
game 15 minutes after kick-off
and is subject to availability.
• There is no guarantee that there
will be availability for students
in the stand-by line or that the
entire stand-by line will gain
access to the game.
• All stand-by line students will
be seated in seating area 14/15
and will only be admitted with
their valid NCSU Student ID.
• NO Guest Tickets will be
available with the stand-by line.

Late Arrivals:
• With the addition of a stand-by
line, students who have a
claimed ticket and arrive late to
a game now run the risk of not
being admitted to the game.
• As always, students are
encouraged to arrive early at
the game to ensure entry and to
achieve the best possible
seating location.
• It is the goal of the university to
provide the best game day
atmosphere possible. Please
arrive early to support the team
and do not miss your chance to
enter the game.

i wonder how the seating will work.. two years ago, they would let anyone into 14/15 with no problem. the last two years they have been super lame about it, not letting people with end zone stamps go up there.. always had to show up late so we could get up there.

maybe the student section will actually fill up on time now

(being the students fault or the university's fault regardless)

this is a good thing, if you ask me. we have a fucking epidemic of people rolling in late. it's terrible.

that and halftime passes.

This also means that even if a bunch of people who claimed tickets but don't show up at all, we still have a better chance of filling up the entire student sections.

Is there a way to implement this policy into the alumni too?

How about a policy that rewards people that are at the end of games when we get the shit kicked out of us? Like Clemson last year?

Terrible? Not hardly. Aids is terrible. People coming in late because they are having a good time in the parking lot is fine. It happens for everything!

^thats retarded. if you want a social, everyone hanging out and partying atmosphere thats one thing.

I'd rather have a rabid fanbase and stadium that teams fear to play in where everyone is so excited ABOUT THE GAME that they are in their seat 20 minutes before the game. I understand the difficulty with our product on the field but the stadium sets the tone for the game as well.

I'd rather party and get drunk after the game celebrating with friends then miss part of the game b/c I'm tailgating. (tho i do love tailgating)

seconded. people rolling in after the 2nd quarter started is just embarrassing. tailgating is just the preamble. get to your damn seat for kickoff.

can you still give your ticket away to another student so they can use their ID with your ticket?

Finally a way to reward students who like to go to all the games and not just the big ones.

are there any tailgating places that are not governed, such as the one that used to be by Wendy's that they shut down last year??? or what about the cardinal gibbons lot, does that go by the restrictions too, i was so pissed when they shut down wendys lot bc we tailgated there ever since the restrictions went into effect. maybe they wont block it up this time, doubtful though

so how in the hell is this better than the old days?? lets see...
1. had an actual ticket and could walk into any entrance without the worry of the dumb asses not being able to scan my ticket properly.
2. unlimited tailgating hours.
3. not having 19223923495334832 cops at the fairgrounds lot
4. Philip Rivers!@

i think it is the first positive step we've had in a while with the ticketing process. Fuck all the people who get tickets for the big games in the past while not going to any other games

now dont get me wrong... i agree with the points system and all that.. even to a point the standby line... what i dont really like (thank you dumb ass rednecks with shotguns who feel the need to shoot people) are the tailgating rules...

Are tailgating hours this year 4 hours early or 5 hours early? I can't remember what it was last year.

we could also solve this problem by just selling season ticket packages for like 50-60 bucks or so to students. That way they will go to the damn game anyway if they pay for it. If they don't want to, they will sell it to someone who does.

This is the exact same way they do it up here at WVU - same ticketing, same rules and everything. The stadium is shitpacked 30 minutes before kickoff and absolutely no seat is left open by the time kickoff rolls around. Also, it helps to have a team that's good and the fanbase here lives and dies WVU football.

okay well that's totally irrelevant to the ticketing system, which is what we're talking about.

actually the tailgating and the ticketing rules go hand in hand... if the students are being forced to leave their tailgates earlier so that they get there before kickoff, then in order to get the true "student sections" this rule forces people to leave even earlier than before and thus cutting more time out of tailgating... i know that i leave aprox 20-25 min before kickoff and get north endzone for most games... with the new rules i will have to leave 35-40 min before kickoff to receive these same seats...

this will just lead the drunks to the idea of not even bothering to get a ticket and then just going and trying to get in and if they can't . . . no big deal, just go back and drink so more. Then everyone will realize there is no need to bother with a ticket and it will become just show up if you want to go to the game. And if you want to be assured that you go, then get there early.

I wonder if they will scan id's of the people from the stand-by line. If not, then it really opens it up to non students using students using old student id's to get in.

you can pay the $10 and park at one of those office complexes by wendy's. It's about the same as you would pay for a permit by the stadium, but you don't have the schools rules to abide by.

Who is in charge of student tickets???

It says i am not eligible to request a ticket, but I am definitely a grad student, and have definitely paid my tuition and fees for this semester. The ticket office closes at 4:30 apparently.
