My new dookiemax came in last night. '08 crew cab short bed, Z71 SLT, the only thing it doesn't have that the denali does is a dvd/nav It even has the pto idle crap, integrated brake controller, adjustable load braking and manual shifting, remote start, the whole 37 yards it had 6 miles on it when i picked it up, i can't wait to get to around 500 to really give it hell, it will already burn em down through 1st and second, spins again when it hits3rd, and chirps them going into 4th, with the rear end locked ** RIP big red, I'm sure the tennessee kid I sold you to already has to buried up to the bumpers on a powerline trail Next step over the next few months is banks intake and exhaust, economy tuner, spray in bed liner, step bars, front and rear bumpers and winch, and remounting my tool box on theremy main goal on this build is superfluous fuel mileage, i've been talkin with the banks people and they have recommended a setup that should produce 28mpg+ on the highway, as soon as they get the tuner on the market [Edited on August 24, 2008 at 2:08 PM. Reason : eat my shit dirty dan, i'll run the super dodge anyday]
8/24/2008 1:57:04 PM
awesome. best color too.
8/24/2008 1:58:49 PM
Now just get rid of those tiny stock tires GM always puts on them.I don't know about 28mpg though.
8/24/2008 2:05:33 PM
what is with the new exhaust tips on those things?? also, I heard one with straight pipe at the auction and it honestly sounds like a jet engine
8/24/2008 2:06:25 PM
the first 100 miles last night i averaged 19 stock, so its entirely possible[Edited on August 24, 2008 at 2:07 PM. Reason : its a cooler tip, the exhaust is over 1000 degrees during cleaning, it mixes in cooler air]
8/24/2008 2:06:46 PM
Don't lie, it's a fart can.
8/24/2008 2:09:13 PM
it does kinda look like a trombone, i guess it uses the venturi to suck in airmine is quiet as a mouse with the cat, particulate filter, and 55 gallon drum muffler, most of that will be gone with the banks system
8/24/2008 2:10:42 PM
At first I was like "Who is this faggot who signed up for TWW just to show us his new truck."lol
8/24/2008 2:10:55 PM
8/24/2008 2:13:37 PM
8/24/2008 2:51:52 PM
largest tires that are going on it are 285's, this is gonna be a street hauling machine that can still make to some of the remote areas around here
8/24/2008 4:38:03 PM
Id rather be Cummin than Strokin
8/24/2008 5:01:38 PM

how the hell am i gonna film it? i live out in the boonies, these people just got indoor plumbing, you cant expect them to work a camera for mei can assure you though, it will do fully locked 4wd burnouts [Edited on August 24, 2008 at 5:46 PM. Reason : fors fucks sake, the delivered order on my truck said "repared scratches on hole door handel"]
8/24/2008 5:37:55 PM
you obviously havent seen where I'm from [/Iredell Co.]where are you at anyway?
8/24/2008 5:39:43 PM
you'll probably get 30mpg doing the burnouts
8/24/2008 5:42:53 PM
counce, tn makes me wannadaily
8/24/2008 5:45:10 PM
8/25/2008 1:49:18 PM
^still paying for the water+meth mix, still paying $x/gal for the propane. as long as they are cheaper per unit than diesel, im for it.gear vendors, programmer, I/E, drop some weight, skinny tires are about the best bets for improving fuel economy
8/25/2008 2:02:43 PM
like i said, banks has a setup that can easily hit 28, but its not on the market yet, and they couldn't go into the entire details since the patent is still pending, but it was something along those lines ^^its the stinger kit is part of the package, and it will be upgradable to the new system, so i'll start with the cheap/simple stuff[Edited on August 25, 2008 at 2:03 PM. Nice, looking truck man... Love mine too, now its time to start spending some more on it. I would start with a line-x bedliner, i know underPSI would agreee. Talk to chuck at Linex of the triangle and tell him benny from WV sent ya, he just fixed up some boards for me today. Then start with the banks...
8/25/2008 2:42:30 PM
8/25/2008 3:00:00 PM
^^ not gonna drive 800 miles to get a bedliner sprayed in
8/25/2008 3:05:38 PM
yea, hell i wouldnt drive 30... still find a local linex, thats def the way to go
8/25/2008 3:22:45 PM
8/25/2008 3:38:44 PM
there's a line-x dealer somewhere in TN that sprays Line-X Xtra. that's what i would've got if a local place did it but i had to settle on Line-X w/ UltraShield. i'd definitely check out the Xtra.
8/25/2008 4:29:45 PM
yeah, it's in memphis, but it costs x-tra $texas$
8/25/2008 4:39:11 PM
anyone else looking for a duramax??http://www.horsepowerjunkies.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70428
8/25/2008 4:42:43 PM
^^you just bought a $50,000 truck but won't spend the extra cash to get shit done right?damn.^wonder what else he's done to it to warrant a suncoast transmission?!?![Edited on August 25, 2008 at 5:33 PM. Reason : -]

you forget the fact that it is a diesel, the inherent efficiency of the engine will more than make up for the size of the vehicle, hell, stock it already gets twice the mileage of a gas one[Edited on August 25, 2008 at 7:32 PM. Reason : ^^ the fact that i would have to drive 3 hours to pay twice as much kinda turns me off to that idea]
8/25/2008 7:31:55 PM
^^maybe you didn't read this:
8/25/2008 9:37:41 PM
Are you new to the internet?
8/25/2008 9:59:08 PM
I just got done cummin after strokin
8/25/2008 10:01:12 PM
^real trucks don't have spark plugs.
8/25/2008 10:24:26 PM
"Id rather be Cummin than Strokin"Cummins just the mess Strokin' leaves behind
8/26/2008 1:32:15 PM
8/26/2008 3:22:25 PM
Nice truck, well done
8/27/2008 3:17:26 PM
Nice ride, you'll love the duramax. 28 isn't way out of the realm, but I too am a little skeptical, I'm getting 23.5 hand calculated on the highway. Just made a round trip from here to Bristol, TN and back on one tank of fuel. right about 500 miles. That's with a tuner, and downpipe back exhaust, oh yeah and running the speed limit, no more than 70, that's when it starts to really drop the mileage due to RPM and overcoming resistance.I'll 3rd the Line-X, and enjoy... I love my duramax and everything about it. Intake is next as is looking towards going bio! oh yeah after i get rid of these little wagon wheels that are on it and upgrade to some new wheels/tires.
8/27/2008 4:17:49 PM
what year? if its an lmm bio will be tough on the particulate filter
8/27/2008 4:47:25 PM
^he's got the LBZ.
8/27/2008 5:25:26 PM
there are some issues i gotta overcome on mine, we don't have emissions here, but if i eliminate the filter, he computer will still try to "clean" it, and could melt some shit down without it, i would need an under the table custom tune from an expert, i doubt banks would do any shady shit like that
8/27/2008 5:52:26 PM
if you forgo the warranty i bet they would hell, they probably already have a tune like that
8/27/2008 6:33:17 PM
PDI makes a delete kit and custom tune for the DPF, there's a disclaimer that goes along with it, since you're going to be using it for offroad purposes from now onhttp://www.performancedieselinc.com/ps-825-48-ppe-xcelerator-dpf-deletes-lmm-duramax-only.aspx [Edited on August 27, 2008 at 6:50 PM. ^ what is your username, i saw someone talkin about charlotte to fayettnam towinganyway, after a couple hours or research, the first round is going to bembrp 4" turbo back exhaust for the 01-07's, bolts right up with a few modsquadzilla stealth II tuner with the dpf delete tuning to take care of the codes and regen cycleafe stageII intake systemthat should run around $1600 altogether and put me in the 24-26 mpg range with the standard economy/towing 90 hp tune, i'm not gonna drop much into the tranny or rear end, but if i was, i could bump it to a 330hp gain at the push of a button
