So, you know when you download a file with an extension for which you don't have the program to run it, a little white icon shows up in place of what should be there. Its a page with an earmarked corner and the picture of what looks like an open window (like a webbrowser or folder). Well, I've got those all over my computer. They are all supposed to be images...either jpegs, tiffs, or photoshop documents. They USED to show a little mini image as the icon but not anymore. I haven't done anything, so I'm not sure why they aren't showing up properly.Any ideas?All the other icons (for programs, pdf files, etc) are as they should be.

google said to delete the cache, that it would re-create itself. so I deleted it and restarted.unfortunately that didn't fix the problem when I click on the icon it loads the picture as normal...its just that I don't have any preview of it and its driving me crazy.and google isn't helping. have you tried going into the folder properties and selecting thumbnails and applying them to all folders?[Edited on August 23, 2008 at 9:22 PM. Reason : shot in the dark? i'd also look up thumbnail problem in google.]

they show properly in the folders but only if I select thumbnails. The problem is on the desktop.
