Hey guys, Whenever I switch from regular channels to HD channels, my HDMI connector pops a little bit, and I get a "not supported" message and blue screen from my TV. However, if I turn off the TV and turn it back on, the channel appears in full HD resolution.Any ideas? Do you think it's the TV, the hdmi cable, or the cable box?

does it happen on the local HDs too (abc, nbc, etc.)?what do you mean your HDMI connector "pops?"i'd be willing to bet it's your cable box complaining about how your tv is handling HDCP

haven't tried it with local hd's. the cable makes a clicking noise. i'll listen closer to figure out if it's from the box hdmi jack or the tv hdmi jack

the cable itself shouldn't be making any noise at all...if this is indeed the case, it's time to replace the hdmi cablemore than likely it's coming from the cable box, not the cable, however.

well i switched the cable's connection to the TV from HDMI input 1 to HDMI input 2, and it doesn't do it anymore... so it works, and the ps3 works fine through hdmi 1, so, i guess everything is cool... just strange.okay, nevermindit worked from switching from the network local broadcast to the HD local broadcast... but once i went from local broadcast to cable HD, it did the whole 'not support' againgrrrr [Edited on August 18, 2008 at 11:16 PM. Go in to the cable box's settings menu and set it to output ONLY at your TV's native resolution.

I had this same problem and I forget if it was the box was bad (had 5 go bad in 1 year) or if you can fix it by only letting the box output at HD resolution
