Season tickets should be here soon. I'm two weeks away from heading to Atlanta for the Alabama game. I'm also thinking about getting tickets on stubhub in the next few weeks for the Boston College game. Just trying to make sure the game fits with work, etc. I've asterisked the games I'm attending. 08-30 *Alabama - 8:00 PM09-06 Citadel - 3:30 PM09-13 *North Carolina State - 12:00 PM (im heading to a wedding as soon as this is over)09-20 South Carolina State09-27 *Maryland10-09 *at Wake Forest - 7:30 PM10-18 *Georgia Tech11-01 at Boston College11-08 at Florida State11-15 *Duke11-22 at Virginia11-29 *South CarolinaWill this be the season Clemson finally wins the ACC with Tommy? I actually remember the last time Clemson won it back in 91. Pretty sure we had to beat Maryland to win it in the final game of the ACC regular season. Should be a fun season. As always I'm expecting some crazy hiccup (my bet is to Virgina this year) that just doesn't make sense.
8/18/2008 12:25:26 AM
This Sir, is an NC State Message Board!
8/18/2008 1:21:56 AM
I started a Clemson thread the past two seasons but I end up forgetting about it halfway through the season and didn't update it enough.
8/18/2008 1:33:04 AM
my bet for the hiccup is at Wake Forest.reasons:a) first away gameb) it's a Thursday game, Clemson plays badly on Thursdaysc) it's Tommy, he has to lose a midseason game against some club he's supposed to pound on.
8/18/2008 1:40:51 AM
I have been trying to get tickets for the damn Bama game but they are selling for crazy amounts around here... got any extra?
8/18/2008 2:21:57 AM
I don't have any extras but send kevmcd86 since he's the only other clemson fan on this board that i know of.^^ every damn time I go to Winston for a Clemson game the weather is shitty. It's either raining or the wind is unbelievably strong. And Clemson has played some crappy games with WF so I wouldn't be surprised to see WF on top at the end.
8/18/2008 2:29:19 AM
definitely count me in for the state game

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/story/136653.htmlHarper’s injury remains an unknownHalfback’s ankle is swollen and coaches don’t know how long he will be outCLEMSON Jamie Harper emerged from Clemson’s training room Monday night carrying his cumbersome walking boot in his left hand, prompting a teammate to implore him to put something over his sock.Harper, the Tigers’ highly-touted freshman running back, was pleased to have rescued his swollen left ankle from the clamp of his football shoe.“I just can’t believe how big it’s gotten,” Harper said.By Thursday, there should be an idea just how big a deal Harper’s injury is.Harper disclosed Monday that he suffered a low ankle sprain during Saturday’s scrimmage when linebacker Brandon Maye grabbed his collar and tackled him from behind. It was the same ankle Harper has injured before. He fractured the left ankle in two spots as a high school sophomore and had a severe sprain as a seventh-grader.An MRI was taken immediately after Harper was injured, and the results were negative.Yet his availability for next week’s season opener against Alabama remains up in the air until team doctors examine it once the swelling subsides.Harper spent Monday’s practices either riding a stationary bike or watching from the sideline. The team has Wednesday off in conjunction with the start of fall semester classes, but Harper said he will put the ankle through a battery of strenuous tests that day so the doctors can see how it responds.“It’s worse if you baby it, so I stay on it as much as I can and ice it down,” Harper said.Coach Tommy Bowden said the injury has yet to alter the team’s plan for using Harper in the season opener.Because of his high profile, Harper was sure to avoid redshirting regardless of how his August practices looked. But the 6-foot, 230-pounder from Jacksonville, Fla., has turned heads by showing he is more than a power back, leading the coaching staff to revise their plan for giving Harper only spot and mop-up duty.“It’s safe to say his status has been elevated since he’s been here,” Bowden said, citing Harper’s pass protection skills and toughness as areas that have surprised him.Harper said team doctors have suggested he should have an easier time recovering from his latest ankle injury because he possesses the psychological advantage of having dealt with the rehabilitation schedule before.“Basically, being through the rehab before, I know in my head what I have to get through to get it done,” Harper said. “It will probably be easier.“If you look at it as disappointment, you’ll probably feel pity for yourself. ... It will just push me harder to be able to get into the game.”
8/19/2008 2:21:05 PM
Any injury for a team sucks but I'm more worried about Jackson (starting defensive tackle whos out until probably October) and the O-line.
8/19/2008 2:29:54 PM
ankles and wrists never seem to completely heal after you've sprained them severely.
8/19/2008 5:07:08 PM
^thats the truth....and fingers as well
8/19/2008 5:10:38 PM
Bought my tickets last night for the Boston College game. That'll knock off BC on my ACC Stadium visitation list. Only Virginia, Miami, and FSU to go.I also noticed ESPN Classic will be airing the Clemson/BC game from last year on Thursday ( ) but ESPNU is showing the Florida State and South Carolina game from last year ( ).
8/23/2008 1:55:54 PM
ok. lets get a pool going on when clempson will choke
8/23/2008 2:28:54 PM
If they choke, I hope its at Virginia or Florida State since I'm not going to those two games. But Wake Forest will be the first big ACC test. Here are the results of the past five trips to Winston. I've bolded the winner.2006 - Clemson at Wake Forest. 27-17 (4th quarter rally to win)2005 - Clemson at Wake Forest. 31-272003 - Clemson at Wake Forest. 45-172001 - Clemson at Wake Forest. 21-14 (Grobe's firest season)1999 - Clemson at Wake Forest. 12-3 (4th quarter rally to win)

ive got 4 tickets to the clemson bama game 20 rows up on the 50 behind the clemson bench...they are going for $950 a piece on ebay & stubhub. http://www.stubhub.com/clemson-football-tickets/clemson-vs-alabama-8-30-2008-576491/?ticket_id=120624373i cant imagine paying that amount of money when its not even a national championshipill also be at the maryland, wake, state, and south carolina game for sure. i got wake tickets for $50 a piece a month ago, and i think that was smart move because i see it being the big game in the acc this year. i'm also worried about the clemson @ fsu game- that will be a tough one[Edited on August 24, 2008 at 6:04 PM. 8/24/2008 7:55:24 PM
^I think that is for the whole box. 26 or 28 people, parking spots, food/beer, etc. still expensive...but some rich clemson/bama alum in the atl. is packing that kind of cash I am sure
8/24/2008 8:00:36 PM
you're right. I just saw the drop-down-box for 1 and failed to read underneath that.

About to head to Atlanta for the game. Apparently traffic is supposed to be a bitch with some construction being done around I-75 and I-85 so we might take a MARTA from outside the main city. Hopefully the Tigers can get some revenge for the Thursday night debacle against the SEC.
8/30/2008 6:22:48 AM
EKK! That was comically bad. At one point I pulled out my cell phone and played that Benny Hill theme during a Clemson play. Easy to see how much more dominant Alabama's O and D-lines were. And that Saban is a better coach that Bowden. He knew where he had an advantage and he used it.
8/31/2008 10:16:46 AM
i was pretty surprised alabama's running game was so solid. i wasn't expecting them to be terrible, but to run over clemson..gives me hope that state might get at least one acc win.
8/31/2008 11:22:06 AM
well the good news is the ACC Championship is still a possibilitythe bad news is that it wont happen for this team
8/31/2008 4:47:24 PM
well guys, the national championship is already over for you, might as well give up and end the thread early this year

might as well name this thread ROLL TIDE 08!!

Clemson is now 3-1 after the Alabama debacle to start the season. I'm finally heading to my first home game of the season to see a team that's more of an enigma than Clemson. And I feel for you State fans with those injuries. Coming into the season the offensive line was figured to be a weak point but now both sides of the line are struggling with all of the injuries:Jamie Cumbie, DT, broken wrist, outRashaad Jackson, DT, knee, outBarry Humphries, OG, knee, outDavid Smith, OT, sprained ankle, outAntwon Murchison, DT, hamstring, outStanley Hunter, LB, sprained ankle, questionableJamarcus Grant, OT, shoulder, questionableChris Hairston, OT, Knee, questionableDawson Zimmerman, P, pulled hamstring, probable08-30 *Alabama L 10-3409-06 Citadel W 45-1709-13 North Carolina State W 27-909-20 South Carolina State W 54-009-27 *Maryland - 12:00 PM10-09 *at Wake Forest - 7:30 PM10-18 *Georgia Tech11-01 *at Boston College11-08 at Florida State11-15 *Duke11-22 at Virginia11-29 *South Carolina* = games attending/attended

I hate Maryland, but I'd love to see Tammy get fired and them lose some of their recruits, especially some that are/were looking at State.
9/29/2008 10:20:38 AM
guess the choking came a little early this year.
9/29/2008 10:43:42 AM
The biggest sunshine pumper and Bowden apologist Mickey Plyler posted an article calling for his head. You know things are getting bad now when that happens.
9/29/2008 12:53:36 PM
I guess I should have subtitled this thread "The Bowden Farewell Tour."
9/29/2008 1:37:03 PM
aha, that would be awesome!
9/29/2008 1:45:50 PM
Game time in Winston tonight. Tommy might be trying to make sure he losses every game I attend this year. This might be an ugly game with the way both teams played two weeks ago and with the expected weather.
10/9/2008 10:55:14 AM
Remember the 2003 meltdown we had there? I cried watching that game. I think right then and there I became a true Wolfpack fan.
