So I am planning on getting a cellphone today but I have no idea which way I should go yet...





I've ready multiple websites about the iphone and it's pro's and con's but I haven't read much about the blackjack II. Does anybody have one?

i have a iphone and it has been the best cell phone I've ever had. And I LOVE the new app store they have for it, great line up of games (which I never liked on cells before this one) and other apps.

I like the actual buttons on the blackjack and think its a tad better for communicating...but the phone itself sucks. Its not a good shape or size. Id go iphone

I'm not an iphone fan but I'd choose it over the blackjack. I like HTC's Tilt a lot more than either.

I was looking at that phone as well but it's $200. I might as well shell out the extra $100 and get an iphone. I'm most likely going to sell my Ipod and just use the Iphone.

The whole selling point of the iPhone is the internet experence. It has the most PC like internet interface of any cell phone. If that's what you're interested in, there isn't another phone that can hold candle to the iPhone.

As I said in the other thread you did, the HTC Tilt is the ultimate phone on any carrier in the USA at this time.

I would own one in a heartbeat if I could throw it on my agent VZW plan or if AT&T had jack shit for coverage in my area. No GSM coverage in rural Eastern NC = no Tilt for me.

apple stores have plenty of iPhones in stock.

I am picking one up tomorrow at southpoint.

ATT stores are a 3 week wait for your order to be received, from what I have been told.

Just go to the apple store, they can set you up with everything you need.

well i have to buy it at the at&t store because my dad gets an ibm discount and apple's computers won't register the business account so they have to remove it then you have to reapply and that could take about 2 billing cycles. Buying it from at&t lets you keep your business account intact. And it's not a 3 week wait..they put on my receipt that it will be 7-10 days.

^^ the Windows Mobile market is more mature, for sure. But the toolkit available to iPhone developers dominates anything available, until maybe Android comes out, so the relatively small amount of good apps available for iPhone now already put it above, or at least nearly on par with WM. Of course, it all depends on what you're using it for - i suspect in the business market WM is still superior and may remain that way for a while. But the iPhone is clearing trying to bring mobile computing to "the rest of us" who don't care about business applications (or have work-issues phones for those uses)

whatever -> gmail
old mapquest -> google maps
hierarchical -> tag and search


A better UI, a better OS, a better API, better App distro all means that iphone software either is better now or will be better in the near future. iPhone is the next iPod, and no developer wants to be late to the cash bonanza this time around.

google maps, gmail, and a metadeta based search for files weren't made for the iphone. they were all available for YEARS on windows mobile. outlook mobile is FAR FAR better than gmail, powerpoint is actually compatible with the work force, and a hierarchical file system actually makes sense and requires far less overhead than giving each file metadeta and catting it on the shit heap.

I like the iphone but refuse to keep shitty ass fucking AT&T, I have dropped calls ALL THE TIME, even as I am driving by their god damn headquarters in the middle of fucking Atlanta, HATE fucking AT&T. Was thinking of going to Sprint and the Instinct... like it?
