This is a professional grade high speed solid ink printer. It will print full 8x11 photos as fast as you can pull them from the output tray and with great quality. Uses Xerox "Colorstix" ink, which is a solid block of ink about the size of a normal print cartridge. Easy to handle and cheap . . . . a color block which yields several thousand pages is only about $25, less for non-OEM.Included with the printer is about 3 full blocks of each color, enough ink to print around 4,000 color pages depending on coverage. It has been fully tested, run through its full range of diagnostics, and is in GREAT working condition! The light stripe test is perfect, without a single bar weak or missing. Also, Xerox supplies free black ink for the life of this printer!! That's right, you will NEVER have to pay for black ink, only color!Specifications:Page count: 58kMaintenance Kit: 95% RemainingFull Duplex Operation (Two-Sided Printing!)1200x1200 DPI resolution, black and full color14 PPM Print Speed6GB Hard DriveSecond 500-Sheet Paper Feeder (For 3 trays total)Monthly Duty Cycle: 65,000 Pages128MB Ram (expandable to 256mb using standard PC100 laptop ram)850 Sheet Paper Capacity (100 Manual, 250 Tray 2, 500 Tray 3)10/100 BaseTX Ethernet, built in Web Server and Admin tools/remote printingParallel, 10/100 Ethernet, and USB ConnectionsSmall and compact for this type of printer! ^ No, but you can order enough a bunch of the packs at once and still only pay the same shipping as one. I think ground shipping is like $5 total.Either way, I'll throw in enough of the free black packs to last through easily a year of high-volume printing.

I need the colorstix and maintenance kit :\[Edited on August 5, 2008 at 8:36 AM. Reason : .]

maintenance kits are where xerox gets you by the short and curlies
8/5/2008 3:53:33 PM
^They're about $60-70 on eBay and last for 45k pages. Dirt cheap compared to the Imaging Drum in pretty much every other color laser out there, and lasts longer to boot.Supplies-wise it's pretty tough to beat the 850. Everything it uses is cheap compared to other Phasers and color lasers.

It seems that we have to order maintenance kits on the printer at my office somewhere in the neighborhood of 10K-15K pages.
8/5/2008 5:14:16 PM
Standard 850 maintenance kits are 10k pages, extended are 45k. Silly to order the standard ones when the extended ones are so cheap, heh.

I don't order them. I just bitch when the printer stops working.

http://www.office.xerox.com/userdoc/P850/videos/video11.htmlwtf mate. you have to replace a roller, a chip, and empty a tray? all for $160+?
8/6/2008 12:22:33 AM
The roller and chip both come in the kit. Replacing them takes all of 30 seconds. And like I said, $60-70 . . . unless you order it directly from Xerox, in which case it'll be 3x as much for the same thing. Either way this has 95% remaining on its maintenance kit . . . . you're not going to need to replace it for a WHILE.[Edited on August 6, 2008 at 4:36 AM. Reason : .]

Someone make me an offer, jeez. I've had more people ask me when I was going to get in more of the "free black ink" Phasers, and now nobody wants one?
