I'm looking to buy a pub table and was wondering if anyone here has bought one locally. I don't want to order it online or drive outside of the triangle area to buy one. Any suggestions?

I've got a pizza parlor style base you can buy if you want to make your own.

^^ Target has some on their website, but I didn't see any in the store when I went the other day.I'm thinking of spending no more than $200; hopefully less. [Edited on July 29, 2008 at 6:32 PM. Reason : $]

there is a place on glenwood out past carmax on the right that sells only dinnette sets and bar tables/bar stools- and they have some pretty nice stuff for reasonable prices

I bought one online from Target a few months back and it came out looking pretty good. I think with shipping and everything it came to around $170.

In my process of looking for a dining room table and chairs, I've seen tons of pub tables on Craigslist.

^^^ I'll try to find that place since I'll be out that way soon.

That place was kind of pricey. You could try looking at gameworld off capital or some other place that sells pool tables. They usually have some.

we got ours from bed bath and beyond.. pretty cheap and it is sooo much better than our old huge kitchen table. we hardly ever eat there and it saves a ton of space.

I looked around everywhere and finally found one on craigslist for under $100 with chairs. The wood top was thinner than the $300 models but I didn't care.

I know I said I didn't want to order online but I found this nice set on target.com that has free shipping. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=/qid=/ref=br_1_br_1_2/601-2013868-0289725?ie=UTF8&node=12959871&frombrowse=1&asin=B000AYQ5PA&rh=&page=1I like that it's a square, and not a circle. I still going to check some of the stores you all suggested before I buy it.[Edited on July 30, 2008 at 3:49 PM. Reason : a]

I bought a great bar-height table from Ashley Furniture a while back- its fairly large though, and was expensive. I'd say check out their showroom for one. Back when I was looking- I couldn't find any, anywhere. I've seen more of them since though. Anyhow- they have a store right next to Triangle Town Center.[Edited on July 31, 2008 at 4:05 PM. Reason : (well, it's only large when you have the leaf in- it's much smaller without)]

I got mine from Target online because that was the only place where I could find a relatively cheap 42" table that I could use my old barstools with.
