What are the possible consequences if I decided to keep riding a bike with a bad charging system (voltage regulator, rectifier, stator - I don't know) and a dead battery.

Operationally, everything works great, even at night. Riding with over 3k rpms (basically all riding time), the headlights, high beams, display lights, turn signals, etc. all work fine. Over time, will I lose those things if the battery gets even deader than it is? I have a little juice, as I get very dim lights when I turn the key.

Is this something I could work around indefinitely with a kickstart or am I asking for trouble?

depends on the bike, if it has a magneto igntion and carbed, then not much damage

if it has cdi and/or fuel injection, the alternator and regulator won't last long

Sorry for leaving that out. It has a magneto ignition and a carburetor / not fuel-injected.

Is "not much" equivalent to "nothing I can think of" or more like "not much, and I don't feel like typing any more"?

shit, you can run that forever without a damn battery, but keep in mind your starter is your alternator, so as long as you dont need lights, just ride that ragged sum bitch

So my lights will eventually stop working, even with the engine on?
