but its no surprise. he promised a long time ago he was going to "take care" of his peeps.

He'll take them to Crawford to clear some brush
7/17/2008 1:44:07 AM
Obama should release all this shit once he gets in, but he won't
7/17/2008 1:47:18 AM
there seems to be some rule that incoming presidents don't rat out previous presidents.i'm not sure if it's really a bad policy. maybe we're better off that way. in any event, i don't think we'll see Obama dropping any bombs on Bush when he moves into the White House. besides, that's what Congress is for. i still hold a small hope, but first we gotta get rid of Reid and Pelosi. somehow i dont think thats gonna happen either, at least not without the GOP gaining control again.
7/17/2008 2:00:07 AM
why are we still worrying about this trivial bullshit
7/17/2008 6:51:09 AM
^^ yeah Obama won't do it but that doesn't mean people from the former administration won't
7/17/2008 7:06:31 AM
7/17/2008 7:07:43 AM
if it's trivial bullshit, why is everyone even close to being involved being protected under executive privilege? Shouldn't they just show up, answer some easy, "trivial" questions, then go on their merry way?on another, related topic. Whatever happened to the subpoena that Rove ignored last week? At what point does the Speaker or someone call up, i don't know, Capitol Police or FBI, and have them arrest all these assholes who are simply ignoring legally binding congressional subpoenas?

7/17/2008 7:54:48 AM
Executive privilege is getting completely out of control.
7/17/2008 7:56:36 AM
^^ should we all look forward to turning into big pussies as we get older?
7/17/2008 7:59:26 AM
Isn't Executive Privilege what Nixon claimed before they yanked those tapes straight outta his hands, leading him to resign?
7/17/2008 10:22:42 AM
^^We can all expect to go into record stores and demand that they turn that god damn racket down
7/17/2008 10:39:08 AM
^^ Yeah. This has a whole lot to do with Nixon, in fact.Cheney worked under Nixon and Ford, and apparently was pretty pissed off at what he thought was an unwarranted reduction in presidential power following Watergate/War Powers Act. Which partially explains this administration's seemingly unlimited thirst for power/immunity.
7/17/2008 10:54:48 AM
well now its starting to make sense
7/17/2008 10:56:57 AM
7/17/2008 11:19:18 AM
The legal system thrives on trivial bullshit. We wouldn't have been able to take down some mob bosses otherwise.
7/17/2008 11:55:49 AM
The government is the ultimate mob boss. [/Libertarian]
7/17/2008 5:11:43 PM
^ just sowhen has a president not done something like this near the end of their 2nd terms?
7/18/2008 9:03:52 AM
yeah, point.but this president has been pulling this shit for 7 1/2 years. and every time, the hypocritical proponents of "character", "truth", and "godliness" look the other way, because he's their tax-cutting boy.
7/18/2008 10:38:18 AM
Good grief. If Reid and Pelosi aren't busy giving Bush everything he wants, they're busy being run over by his administration. It's too bad Howard Dean isn't in Congress instead of heading the DNC. We could really use someone in there with the brass tacks to get raving fucking mad over shit like this.
7/18/2008 11:26:48 AM
Long Live King George V
7/18/2008 12:23:47 PM
^^ first time in a while ive agreed with everything you just said. it's like old days, again
7/18/2008 1:07:08 PM
^ Haha. Aye. Bush has a knack for pissing off almost everyone to the left of Bill Kristol. Cheers!
