I have eng 331 online next semseter with Helo and I've heard shes a good prof. but I don't know much about online classes. How do they work? and is it any easier than the regular class?

i took the regular classroom version

it was one of the most relevant classes i took at my whole time at NCSU.

seriously, you learn skills that will directly help you in the workplace.

Email your professor (her name is Julia Gonzalez now, helo was her name from a previous marriage) and talk to her about it if you're unsure about it. She's really really nice and helpful; I had her last summer session.

^^ Absolutely, and taking it in class will force you to pay more attention to the stuff they teach than if you just take the class online. This class helped me improve my writing skills by making me think critically about something I really wanted to do (I made a proposal on a computer repair department for the NCSU Bookstore, which I turned in) and along the way I really improved my writing quality and figured out how to lay stuff out on the fly.

Ms. Pittman is a good professor, too, and while the class will get to be a pain in the ass sometimes (workload seems to get a little crazy these days) you have to realize that you're in college to improve your skills and to learn something and that a little extra work isn't necessarily a bad thing. The grading was not unfair and in the end I was happy that I took the class. I dunno if I'd want to take it online, unless I really was hard up for free time and needed some flexibility in my schedule.

I took it online with Pittman, she was awesome and we only had six assignments the entire semester. My only complaint was that she took forever to grade anything.

I've also heard that Larsen is a good instructor, I'm actually pretty good friends with her daughter.

we didn't even have to buy the book for Julia's class. so you'd save money by taking it with her. She's pretty good about getting assignments back to you promptly as well.

Agreed. I took her classroom version as well. While I opted for online classes nearly any time they were available, she was as laid back as it gets. The second half of the semester she only made us meet for class once a week, and she was always more than willing to help people polish their resumes
