we usually share a pretty similar taste in that kind of stuff. I'm a sucker for progressive, atmospheric, heavy stuff though.
7/8/2008 12:03:20 AM
yea i knew mine would be too "uppity" (haha) for you but that is all that came to mind before i got bored the putsch '79 MAY be more along the lines of what you'd like. i will let you know if anything else comes to mind (warning though that it may be completely off )[Edited on July 8, 2008 at 12:10 AM. whats the most recent pete rock cd?
7/8/2008 2:09:07 AM
In parentheses are some songs in particular to look for, if an artist isn't all 100% what you're looking for:NettleGlideascopeArabic BreakbeatsElighcLOUDDEADAmon Tobin (Hey Blondie)KankickArchitect (Suicide Lake, St Vodka, Speed O.J.)Dryft (Dibt2e)Tabla Beat ScienceEligh and Kankick are more on the hip-hop end of things; Amon Tobin, Architect and Dryft are more on the electronica side of things but still use some breakbeats; the others are more in between.I haven't kept up with this kind of stuff, and to be honest I haven't even heard of Sixtoo or Villain Accelerate (will have to check it out), but those all came to mind when you said obscure-ish groups of "downtempo, ambient hip hop style electronica shizzle." Maybe you'll like some of them.
