I have tried searching for related posts and haven't been able to find too much information, but I was wondering if anyone has any good or bad experiences with Two Men and a Truck. There are awful reviews on-line but none seem to be Raleigh specific and I am only moving from Cary to Raleigh so I would rather work with local movers. Thanks for any helpful information.

Used them in Greensboro two weekends ago to move my large items in my apartment within town. Cost about 325.00 but was done in about three hours and didn't have to mess with renting a truck, hiring a buddy, etc. Would use them again for sure.

i just had a good experience with All My Sons.I had read some bad reviews with them as well.In fact, in researching various moving companies, ALL of them had a few really scathing reviews. I'm suspecting that unless you find way more bad reviews compared with the other ones, it's just a matter of the standard subset of morons with unrealistic expectations. In my move, there was a small dent in our dryer, which was the only damage in our move. I'm certain that some people would have thrown a shitfit over it, but they immediately showed it to me, and it was cosmetic. my buddies and me would have done way more damage to my stuff if i didn't hire movers.

yeah it was worth every penny to me... there's no way my friends could have logistically done what needed to be done with the efficiency and care that i got from professional movers

Ive used them before. I rented a uhaul and had them load it. Would do again in a heartbeat. Worked fast, had my apartment packed in the uhaul fast and secure. About 400 bucks after tip.

how much do you have to be moved? you might be able to get it done cheaper and more quickly by posting up an ad in classifieds. obviously if you have very fragile stuff, family heirlooms, very awkward stuff, etc. you might be better off going with a licensed/insured company

Thanks,We actually don't have a ton of stuff but we are the third floor of an apartment building with a very large couch and an awkward bed along with the normal house hold items. I have also started looking into getting a U-Haul and then hiring movers on top of that. It seems to be cheaper and just as recommended on-line.

we used them for a move from the trinity area to outside of fuquay. a 2 bed apt into a 3 bed house, like 3-400 bucks, worth every penny, showed at like 10, done by 2

I used 2 men twice in the last year and had no problem. Let's face it, these guys are folks who really only have their brawn going for them so you're not going to get the highest levels of customer service or smarts with whatever company you go to.

It is so much more fun to bribe your friends with beer and rent a u haul.Of course then your shit usually ends up broken.

one of the guys who helped moved me was a college graduate and was just doing it part-time to earn some extra cash

i used a place called "all the right moves" last year to move a piano and they did a quick and good job (and they weren't dumb hulks as was suggested here). i chose them mostly for their logo (and lack of bad reviews):

Yep, used them, at least twice. Once was just over Wake County line past Wake Forest, which I had advised upon seeking an est. price. The drivers charged me for "crossing the county line" (maybe two miles max), I complained to the company and they refunded the charge. Would use them again.
