The DVD player I have won't play divx, so I need to take an AVI on my mac and burn it to be a playable DVD. Anyone know any free software that will allow me to do that? I tried toast, but it requires a lot of hard drive space which I don't have to do the conversion.

a friend of mine with a macbook pro converted a video to mp4 in like 3 clicks somehow - i'll ask him what he was using but i was pretty shocked as to how easy it was...

you can buy a DVD player that plays divx for cheap

I'll try the mpg4 - but it may be easier to get the divx plater.
