Wrightsville Carolina or Kure beach. Hazard insurance will be F$orida though.

For what it's worth, when I move back to Wilmington I plan to look in the area bound by Eastwood, College, Oleander, and the beach. This is based on my growing up in that area, and my husband living in various parts of Wilmington and Hampstead. The area near UNCW puts you central to everything. Depending on how good your jobs are, there are a lot of nice "family" houses for sale in Eastwinds right now, or if you're looking for more of a couple's starter home look between Wrightsville Ave. and the campus. Wilmington isn't like Raleigh, and even areas just off campus are pretty mixed and not all student rentals.
