While this thread is still here, I have to agree with the first post. I think the flavors have a chance to ferment some in the time between the two meals that a Beansprout lunch special provides. And that being said, the trick to microwaving rice is to add a little water and then close the container lid.
6/18/2008 10:58:51 PM
aren't they closing?
6/18/2008 11:21:01 PM
i recommend good placehouse lo mein is off the chain

i like beansprout. if they are closing that is sad.
6/19/2008 1:54:17 AM
mmmm beansprout
6/19/2008 8:55:54 AM
I had some general tso's chicken yesterday for lunch. Yum! I can't wait to reheat it today for lunch again!
6/19/2008 8:57:45 AM
I certainly hope they are not closing! Best of the "cheap" Chinese places. Yes, Red Dragon (which is the name of the place on Fairview) or P.F. Chang's are better, but they're also much more expensive.I would be very sad if Beansprout were to go away...
6/19/2008 11:14:45 AM
aye...it's not the best chinese i've ever had, but it's darn good (and the portions are large) for the price
6/19/2008 11:19:57 AM
It's good for what it is, and the people there are friendly and remember you if you come in often. I used to avoid it because it looked sketchy, but when I finally tried it I was hooked.
6/19/2008 11:25:41 AM
I hope its not closing
6/19/2008 11:56:09 AM
I love bean sprout.
6/19/2008 12:24:42 PM
Orient Garden out in Cary/Morrisville is pretty good too. Their prices are a little higher and portions aren't as large, but the General Tso is ace.I too would if the sprout closed.[Edited on June 19, 2008 at 3:42 PM. Reason : :]
6/19/2008 3:41:51 PM
best damn chinese food in rawlee
6/19/2008 4:52:16 PM
I don't think the Beansprout is closing, I think that it is that Valentines Catering behind it.^x8 General Tso is the best. Reheated for lunch today.

6/20/2008 2:43:09 PM
^^ I was thinking the same thing
6/20/2008 3:34:03 PM
Beansprout?? Hmmm...where is this place??
6/20/2008 3:38:04 PM
Beansprout is down Hillsborough Street. IIRC it is almost across from Meredith...unless they moved.
6/20/2008 3:43:06 PM
Hillsborough street between Gorman and the Beltline
6/20/2008 3:43:15 PM
Thanks!! Maybe I can get someone to show me (better yet, take me to eat) there.
6/20/2008 3:44:56 PM
It is still across from Meredith. Coming down Hillsborough toward the fairgrounds, it's past the Gorman/Faircloth intersection, on your left just after the Exxon station and before Royal Bakery. Beware, it is a small building and easy to miss.
6/20/2008 3:48:06 PM
I've recently renewed my love affair with China One in Cary.Shit's awful for you, but fucking dericious.
6/21/2008 11:32:22 AM
but whats even funnier is that you can have a pretty decent view of the fair from Beansprout
6/21/2008 11:42:05 AM
what would be funny about seeing the fair
6/21/2008 11:55:48 AM
Corndogs are inherently funny.
6/21/2008 12:10:58 PM
i suppose any food you have to fellate to eat is pretty funny
6/21/2008 12:14:17 PM
Beansprout is a Chinese restaurant? Always count on the Chinese to have original names.Beansprout... that's a first. Not Panda? Not Bamboo? Not Great Wall? Not Wok?
6/22/2008 1:42:47 PM
^ Is nothing good enough for you?
6/22/2008 1:58:44 PM
I've never craved food more than beansprout, but also never regretted eating anything more after I finish an entire plate and feel like shit.
6/24/2008 4:09:46 PM
lol @ the daire
6/24/2008 5:23:07 PM
this thread has made me hungry...
6/25/2008 7:19:38 PM
beansprout is my absolute favorite Chinese place in Raleigh... PF Chang's SUCKS at kung po chicken...I didn't find a place on par with Beansprout when I lived in Annapolis... I found a phenominal buffet in Lexington Mass. that's $15 at dinner that blows it away... but at 3x the cost.
6/26/2008 1:57:49 AM
i've never been to beansprout, but after reading all of this i will DEFINITELY try it. i could eat tofu and veggies and rice every day and be happy.
6/26/2008 2:23:41 AM
