I finally convinced my parents to get rid of their land line, my mom's only concern is that she might miss a very important call. I was looking online for solutions and found something called a Dock n' Talk (not made anymore). I was wondering if anyone had use this and what they thought of it, or if there were any comparable products. Any input would be great.

this is why voice mail existstell your mom that she is retarded for me

she doesn't want to carry a cell phone around the house^So if an emergency comes she should just wait and let it go to voice mail and get back to an ill mother or work emergency later. you're the retard, not her.

does she not have a signal at her house? wouldnt the important call just go to her cell phone? or is she worried someone wouldn't have her new number, she could always setup call forwarding from her land line.but why are you encouraging them to get rid of their land line? is money a problem? i understand encouraging them to use their cell phones more, but why encourage them to completely ditch the land line? if they don't mind the cost, a land line is helpful in the case of an emergency or if their cell phone ever dies or has a problem.

it sound like what you want to do is route calls to the cell phone to the house phone when she is at home? what phone does she have, she could just setup a profile that forwards calls to the home number instead of voicemail when not answered and use that profile when she is at home.
